Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Feb 18, 2010 6:15 pm Dear all. has anyone experienced with bore holes on eastment ? Can anyone please advice me what to do and what's the right thing to do? basically, my slab is done. My initial quote has an item called bore holes on eastment, which cost > $1500 then when they pour the slab, they found out they not able to put dig bore holes on eastment, so they have put trench, instead of bore holes. which cost about 1,500. (they also requested me to pay this variation) in summary, i am paying bore holes $1,500 (which i didn't receive) and another variation $1,500 for the trench, they put in. now my question is, if builder decided not to do bore holes. Am i entitled to refund for the bore holes item ? I was thinking this is the case where builder over estimate an item. In fact, i didn't receive any bore holes ? so i shouldn't be paying for item that i don't actually get, should i ? is there any law to protect customer here ? much appreciated for the feedback guys cheers Final stage Re: Bore holes ...please help giving a feedback 2Feb 19, 2010 12:25 pm Hi , you will probably find that the trench would be the same as a footing and would have cost much more than the bore holes . The extra $ 1500 is probably the difference between the $ 3000 for the trench and what you were quoted for the bore holes. Perhaps you can ask the builder if this is the case. So the have to dig out a continuous trench , lay in the trench mess on supports off the bottom of the trench ( so it does not sit on the bottom ) when they pour in the concrete. Unfortunatley , all this costs money .
