We will be having one put in our living/dining area, but not sure what we're in for! TIA HH Hi It is usually a strip of cork about 10 mm wide over a joist between the ends of the boards in a doorway. If the boards are then coated first, a piece of cork can be used to trial various stains to match. In my son's place the cork strip did not need any stain, it was a good match just coated when the floorboards were. I will try to get a photo.
