well, that's business.
Pardon me for my ignorance.. but what's 'stick building'?
Is it good or bad for us, customers?

Haven't met the supervisor... and forgot his name.
Will ask our CSR tomorrow.

Overall looking good.
your frame looks good ![]() Re: Building our dream home.. walls no longer bare! 91Jan 30, 2008 9:54 am Wow your house is looking good. I didn't know that M is stick building. I wonder why?
I would imagine that it would be cheaper to get pre-fab frames especially the quantity that they deal with, rather than get carpenters to stick build. When I research about stick building, some says it's cheaper, some says it's more expensive. Quote: Looking good VJ!!!! Bet your getting excited! Michelle... we're always looking forward to see the site in the afternoon. We love dropping by and checking the progress. We're so excited!!!!!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() By the way, a big thanks to one of our members here who noticed a frame overhang issue in our portico and front garage based on the photos that I posted yesterday. I'm really fortunate to be member of this forum... lots of concerned people around here. I'll make sure that our supervisor is made aware about this issue. I wonder now whether we should have an independent inspection at the framing stage. As I've said before, we're planning to have it pre-plaster and handover (as advised by many here). ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Built the Nevada 42 Next project - landscaping! And you are one of them VJ…..looking forward to seeing more of your progress. It seems so long now that you joined the forum and are now on your way. Good luck with it all! ![]() Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: Building our dream home.. walls no longer bare! 96Jan 30, 2008 9:33 pm They have been mighty quick!
VJ, we also had the same overhang issue which they patched by supporting with concrete/timber. Not a big issue. It would be good to get kev for frame inspection as well - just to be on the safe side. also inform ur supervisor beforehand so that they are cautious during the build. we were impressed by our supervisor regarding the stuffup as he was the one who informed about the delay and the cause.. so far so good! Yes, we're happy so far. This forum helped me realise that there would be problems along the way. So I'm not expecting a perfect building experience. We had delays before.. but I'm not impatient anymore. I look forward to a quality-finish house in the end. That's great to hear that it's a minor issue and that your supervisor is good. Hope we have a great supervisor too! Haven't even met him nor know his name. Will have to ring our CSR tomorrow to ask his name and inform them about the issue. I had told our CSR about the pre-plaster and handover independent inspection. Not sure though whether supervisor was informed. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Built the Nevada 42 Next project - landscaping! Re: Building our dream home.. walls no longer bare! 98Jan 31, 2008 1:35 pm I was looking at the frame in the second photo and I asked my partner if it's normal to have the frame go over the slab and he said it can up to 20mm. To me it looks more than 20mm, so i would double check that. By the way this is based on my observation and my partner hasn't seen the photos. Re: Building our dream home.. walls no longer bare! 99Jan 31, 2008 7:37 pm Hi Minx,
Good pick up. It was indeed an issue. We took lots of photos and videos of those areas with timber overhang. We already informed our CSR about it but she hasn't responded yet. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Built the Nevada 42 Next project - landscaping! Re: Building our dream home.. walls no longer bare! 100Jan 31, 2008 9:52 pm We visited the site today to take some photos of the overhang timber.
