Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry Re: Bathroom ceiling combination heater/fan/lights 22Jan 26, 2010 9:08 am extractor fan - need to talk to electrician about brands on the market. we are going to hook it into the same duct that vents the dryer from the the "laundry" cupboard and will also pick up the range hood on the way out. Re: Bathroom ceiling combination heater/fan/lights 24Jan 26, 2010 12:26 pm But, Kek, that model can only convert 750 watts of electricity into heat - ultimately it will only heat the room as much as 2 x 375 watt heatlamps. With ANY form of electrical resistance heating the total number of watts tells you how much heat can be supplied. It's basic physics. The difference is that some are convection heaters and some are radiant heaters but the end result is still the same. EG the tastic heat lamps put out radiant heat for instant effect. However that radiant heat has to go somewhere - ie it will heat the floor which will eventually heat the air in the room. Not sure I've explained this very well. I can certainly understand how people can dislike the "hot scone - cold bottom" effect, though. But the actual total heat output is always directly related to the number of watts unless technology other than electrical resistance is used and efficiency increases as a result. (eg heat pump, induction etc) Cheers zeke Re: Bathroom ceiling combination heater/fan/lights 25Sep 17, 2010 12:20 am How goes the undertile heating and heated towel rails? Do the heated towel rails really make a big difference re. overall feeling when stepping out of the shower? We're trying to plan our bathrooms now, and I really don't like the IXL combo heaters either. A convection wall heater is an option, but wall space is becoming an issue... And it will probably stand out like a sore thumb Dithering thanks for suggestions - the floor heating supplier assures me that the room will be toasty enough with just the floor heating (sydney) I have no space on the wall for a panel heater so I am going to go ahead with that just that and the heated towel rails - will report back in 6 months and the middle of winter! Any electricians here please help. 1) Will the Fan need separate switch to ON/OFF/Speed eventhough it comes with Remote 2) how about… 0 1239 Thank you @. Tried to play with the facade models but the exact colour is not matching up. 2 3280 2 11016 |
