Time waits for no man. Unless that man is Chuck Norris. Re: (heavily modified) Longridge Madison 255 in Adelaide 31Jan 21, 2010 5:05 pm Nothing new today. Then again, with 40C temperatures, I wasn't expecting anything! Wish I could just move in already!! It's too much excitement - can hardly concentrate on work! Re: (heavily modified) Longridge Madison 255 in Adelaide 32Jan 27, 2010 9:47 am starting to get a little antsy now about when things will start moving again... Not because there has been a 1 week gap now (I know that in the grand scheme of things, that is nothing), but because we've heard about so many slowdown stories with our builder that we're wondering if it's about to be us... We're waiting on the electrical fit out. Last time I checked with our electrician (on the 15th) he said that they would be doing the work "next week" - so the week starting the 18th Jan. The weather was pretty icky last week, so we're hoping that things are a bit better this week and that they can get moving again. It's amazing how fast that sense of impending doom settles upon me now... I really wasn't like this at the start of this process, and our problems so far haven't been anything to do with timing... I'm just finding it hard to hold faith in them, and if our small delay turns into a big delay I'm not sure what I'll do! I know that I have nothing to complain about as we weren't expecting ANYONE to be on site until Feb, so the work that has already happened this month has been amazing. No coffee for me today - I don't need to feel anymore wired Re: (heavily modified) Longridge Madison 255 in Adelaide 33Jan 27, 2010 9:59 am I love it, I have 1/2 White Duck painted all through the house, it's a good colour. Your roof is beautiful with it too. Love the layout and that looooooooooooong section facing the back Re: (heavily modified) Longridge Madison 255 in Adelaide 34Jan 27, 2010 10:13 am suh I love it, I have 1/2 White Duck painted all through the house, it's a good colour. Your roof is beautiful with it too. Love the layout and that looooooooooooong section facing the back Thanks =) I'm sure we'll be really happy there once we move in! White duck is an awesome colour =) We wanted an off-white beigey kind of colour that didn't have yellow or pink tones, and that one seemed to match best Re: (heavily modified) Longridge Madison 255 in Adelaide 35Jan 28, 2010 11:36 pm Okies! After my outpouring of paranoia that my build was going to be another one to slow right down, we have signs of life!! Still no general cabling from the sparkies, but they HAVE been on site and cabled up a single point to the roof for the aircon unit. Not only that, but the aircon was all installed today!! Still needs to be hooked up to the water, and the power point isn't so useful as of yet as the power hasn't actually been connected to the block, but WE HAVE AIRCON!!!! It's there, and that's the main thing!! The ducts have all been installed so we can see approximately where it will all be =) Feeling much better today =) Re: (heavily modified) Longridge Madison 255 in Adelaide 36Jan 29, 2010 3:06 pm Re: (heavily modified) Longridge Madison 255 in Adelaide 37Jan 29, 2010 4:58 pm I'd like to think my inspector is as cute as yours... Good to see that things are moving again for you and you no longer have the slow sinking feeling. Good to see that things are moving again for you and you no longer have the slow sinking feeling. And I was expecting someone to tell her to get a haircut and get a real job Feeling MUCH better today... Having now been in contact with several people who are also building with LSHG, any unexpected break like that has me wondering if now is our turn - especially given that the sparkies said they're be there last week AND the SS was calling a couple of weeks back asking if we were even HAVING aircon!! Had visions of "great, he forgot to order it, the sparkies are prolly waiting on that, and there's prolly a 3 month waiting period given how many people want aircon installed at this time of year!!". Hopefully now things will start moving again and I don't have to worry about those long periods of nothingness... Think I've just about had all the stress I can take on this build Re: (heavily modified) Longridge Madison 255 in Adelaide 39Jan 30, 2010 9:45 pm Your house is looking great and good to hear things are moving along again! Somehow I think the SS has gotten his act together and things are progressing for us too. Somehow I think the SS has gotten his act together and things are progressing for us too. Great to hear!! It's certainly about time for you guys... What stage is your house up to now? You were told late Jan handover, but I'm tipping he hasn't gotten himself *that* organised, so wondering where it's all at for you. I keep watching your blog with keen interest! And your house looks wonderful =) Just wish it was finished for you!! |
