Finding out House Numbers

Does anyone know if there is a way of finding out your street address before it's titled, i.e. we are block 728 what house number is that?

Then there is a possibility that the land/lot has not been released yet. Is that right?

The council should know the street number from your lot number, ring the council and ask for engineering and tell them you need to know what street number you are

Can depend on your council, but worth a try. Our council didn't decide our street numbers until after the blocks titled.

If it's not there, the land isn't titled yet. Council is unlikely to have street numbers yet.... you could ask though, what have you got to lose?

Thanks everyone, I have just rang the council and have been advised the land has been pre released from the developer so the council don't have final plans etc yet. I think we were told the other day the land was getting titled in October, so it must be then.

Is that Oct 2010? Then there is no wonder the council doesn't know, sorry, I thought the land was closer to titling

There's quite a bit of info available online about land titles. Building envelopes, planning overlays, all sorts of things - as long as the title has been created, of course.

Your local council will allocate the numbers. We even had ours changed within a day. We are on a corner block (duplex) and bother houses faced the other street so we got our address changed
