Adam A 611 mm bench height would be a bit low! But I am only 3ft tall Sorry Beer O'Clock, should have been 911mm And judging from your avatar a little overweight too. The beer and donuts aren't helping I did not realise we had met, you know my weakness mmm beer, mmm donuts, back soon off to bottle o and krispy kreme Re: kitchen - heights of benchtop/overhead cupboards etc 13Jan 22, 2008 7:30 pm First_Timer_Ray That is strange - seeing as we are building the same house (Aspen 25), our measurements for kitchen - bench height 895mm, gap from bench to overheads 670mm (same height for rangehood), then cupboards are 720mm high. We have our microwave space under the bench next to the oven. Ray. Ray we are having Casearstone bench tops and our microwave is under the island bench like the 31 and 36 sq also we have the 900mm oven and glass range hood maybe that's why? Yeah, our benches are 20mm ceasarstone, but we also have the 900mm oven and glass canopy rangehood... We opted to have the microwave next to the oven so it wouldn't stuff up the island - either moving the cutlery drawers or making the corner difficult to access. I'm glad we figured out that there was no microwave provision before it was to late! Ray. Second Time 'Round Re: kitchen - heights of benchtop/overhead cupboards etc 15Jan 22, 2008 8:01 pm dna I know that most kitchen benchtops are 900 mm high, distance between the benchtop and o/h cupboards is somewhere between 500-600 Industry standard as far as I have been told is now 950-1000mm. Most manufacturers such as Laminex have changed their 'carcass' height from 720mm to 770mm and nearly all now use the plastic adjustable legs that easily achieve 1000mm. I did mine 1000mm, I'm 5'10 1/2" and my wife is 5'11" so we appreciate the higher sink especially. Re: kitchen - heights of benchtop/overhead cupboards etc 16Jan 23, 2008 7:00 am I'm 5'11 and my partner is 6'4 so we need to increase the bench height - I was thinking 1000 would be a good height for us both (although it is mostly me in the kitchen) so thanks Luke for the confirmation!

Fiona I designed a kitchen for people as tall as you (and me) in mind. The kitchen sink height was 1050mm. You can view the kitchen cabinets here. Re: kitchen - heights of benchtop/overhead cupboards etc 18Jan 26, 2008 4:22 pm wow that is a really beautiful kitchen you've done there! I love the staggered bench heights - they make the kitchen look so much more interesting .....
