Who's built with them. 4Feb 22, 2012 6:39 pm We haven't built with them yet but paid deposit and been through 2 rounds of plans with them. Hoping to start the build in May-ish. So far I've loved SJD! They have been excellent in adapting our plans - awkward block made it really difficult with other builders to the point where they were saying why did you get this block? SJD sat us down and we worked together to chop and change our plans until it worked for us. They are upfront about all costs and honest and down to earth. We dealt with the guys in the Pakenham displays and they were just fantastic! Can't emphasize how happy we've been so far! Who's built with them. 11Jun 23, 2012 11:47 am I am currently getting a house built by SJD Homes. I have found them extremely helpful. This is my 1st time dealing with building a house - previously only bought established ones. Any questions have been handled promptly - they have been totally open about all the costs & I was able to make changes to the plan without any issues. They are going a lot faster than I thought & if everything keeps going to schedule will be moving in well ahead of date originally given. Would recommend them to anyone. Re: SJD Homes. Who's built with them. 12Jul 26, 2012 11:09 am I built with SJD Homes and have now been in the house for about 5 months and am very happy with my new home. They were very flexible when I changed the floorplan at the start of the process & the whole building process went very smoothly. I agree with other people's comments that they were very honest about their pricing and there were no hidden costs. I'm a single mum and they were very honest and down to earth and didn't try and rip me off like some companies would when there's no male involved in the buying process!! Lol. The only issues I had were with the actual Estate Developers which was out of the control of SJD Homes, but SJD were great in helping me fight any battles I had with the Developers and really backed me up which was greatly appreciated and really helped move things along. My brother is a carpenter and even he commented that the workmanship on the house by SJD was extremely good (& no my brother doesn't work for SJD! Lol). Re: SJD Homes. Who's built with them. 13Jul 27, 2012 10:03 am I am Currently Building with SJD Homes and will be in the new house next week! they have been very helpful along the way and the process has gone very smoothly. they customised a plan to get the best out of my block within my budget and the house has come up looking fantastic! wouldn't hesitate in referring anyone to them! Re: SJD Homes. Who's built with them. 14Aug 24, 2012 11:36 am We are currently building with SJD Homes. I have nohthing but great things to say about the team. Rod Fitzsimmons from the Casiana Grove displays in Cranbourne has been fantastic and even helped with sourcing the perfect block of land for us. The build started about 1 month ago and we are already at lock up. Rod has been our main point of contact and is always happy to answer any of our questions and is extremely proactive. Rod was fantastic with assisting us with all our selections. We also liked that fact that with selections of tiles, carpet, cabinetry etc. we met with the actual supplier and got professional advice rather than doing selections with an admin staff member trained to upsell rather than in product information. They were also flexible with floorplans and houses are very affordable. We have previously built with a major builder and were very unhappy with the end result. To date, we are very happy with the service we have received from SJD Homes : ) Sam Ingram SJD Homes. Who's built with them. 15Aug 28, 2012 9:48 am I've also recently built a house with SJD homes in the Grandvue Estate Officer. The house has come up an absolute treat and we are extremly pleased and proud of the effort from the builders and of ourselves! We dealt with the team from the Cranbourne displays and couldn't have been more happy with the continued service throughout the process. Build time has only been 3.5 months and it's nearly finished and looking great. Thumbs up for the team at SJD! Re: SJD Homes. Who's built with them. 16Aug 28, 2012 10:24 am We found SJD Homes on the internet and found their plans interesting.I rang Rod Fitzsimmons at Casiana Grove display homes in Cranbourne and set up a time to meet. Rod has been very patient, helpful and informative over a number of appointments explaining SJD plan flexibilities, interior, exterior variations that we could make. He has also given us valuable suggestions involving our block of land. Any communication with Rod in respect to plan, price alterations have been handled promptly, which has kept the process moving in the right direction. We have decided to build with SJD Homes and have found the process very thorough and professional. Presently we are choosing our exterior, interior selections and finding the suppliers choice and experience terrific. Our build starts shortly and look forward to our association with Rod and SJD Homes wonderful manner and service continuing. Thankyou. Rayso Re: SJD Homes. Who's built with them. 17Aug 29, 2012 2:58 pm We built a smaller home with SJD Homes for Investment several years ago and they were great. They gave us all the information we needed up front and even recommended that we take everything to our accountant first before making any decisions. They made everything so easy, that we decided to Build another home with them last year for us to live in. We loved 2 of their homes on Display at Pakenham and couldn't decide which one we liked better so they helped design a home for us that was exactly what we wanted. They are flexible, friendly and priced very well. We were previously looking at another Builder for our own home until we got to Contract stage and our price had increased by $33,000 just in Site Costs, so we thought we would speak to SJD Homes again and we are very glad we did. We would highly recommend them for first, second, third home buyers and Investors! Re: SJD Homes. Who's built with them. 18Oct 02, 2012 7:34 pm After having signed up with one of the majors, Dean (Officer displays) emailed me at the right time, following up with a query, signed with SJD Homes and cannot be happier (okay, lost $1000 with the major, but rather lose that than more). Have had major problems with a neigbour and Simon (owner), Dean and all the SJD 'family' have been a great support all the way. Am yet to start the building, but I am ever so happy with the support they have given me in this very trying process (pretty sure the major would have told me to cope with it myself). All the sales guys are FANTASTIC, Dean, Laurie and Rod, as are all the office staff.....oh, don't forget Simon, the owner of SJD. SJD are your building 'family' and the whole journey with them is wonderful. Please leave the 'big' guys and join a smaller company, you won't be disappointed! Re: SJD Homes. Who's built with them. 19Dec 26, 2012 6:48 pm Delays over, building commenced and slab poured 4/12/12, now have wall insulation and plumbing done. Kept informed of progress and extremely happy with Shane the building supervisor!!! Very, very happy with SJD Re: SJD Homes. Who's built with them. 20Dec 26, 2012 7:00 pm 3 Month inspection carried out - submitted an extensive list of items to be rectified (all were fairly trivial). They agreed with all my list & started work on them straight away. Within a week all items had been fixed. Cannot speak highly enough of their follow up & attention to detail. Both Rod & Shane have been wonderful throughout the whole process. Would recommend SJD to anyone wishing to build. I haven’t. But have a Lowe Design home.
