Normally, blood will not penetrate far into the wool carpet, as the surface tension and other characteristics of the wool fibres keep it very much on the surface. So if fresh, it can often be removed quite easily with a damp cotton flanel, nappy or towel. Avoid overwetting though. Some Woolsafe Approved spot cleaner would be good to use, but DON'T apply it to the blood. Apply a little to the cotton nappy, and blot. This way the blood is drawn up and absorbed into the nappy. Work carefully. If you are not sure where remaining spots are, you can spray a light mist of hydrogen peroxide (no stronger than 3%) over the area, and you will see a reaction if it contacts blood. Then you can spot clean the blood. NO rubbing or scrubbing of the carpet. Just gentle blotting without overwetting. Call me if you have a prob. If there is a larger area of blood pooled, it is best to get in a professional. Ash. How do you remove one of these ceiling air con vents?
