I think i may have set a new record for council approval.
Our Builder, here in WA, submitted our plans electronically to Canning Council on Thursday afternoon at 5pm, by Lunchtime on Tuesday they were approved.
Thats right 2.5 working days !!!
I couldn't believe it.
The city of Canning are quite good, in that: If your house conforms with R-Codes (setbacks, boundary walls etc..) then the plans can be submitted electronically and generally approved with 2 weeks.
If your house is a bit outside the norm (custom build etc..) then the plans cannot be done electronically and have to be paper based, and will take 6-8 weeks.
Anyway, just thought i would post a good news story about a local council, that is taking the common sense approach to building applications.
