Nothing much happening..disappointing 3Dec 20, 2009 9:20 am Thanks Principessa... We signed the contract the 5/09/2009. We got the DA approval the 11/11/2009. We got the Construction Certificate the 7/12/2009. We were told that nothing would happen before next year because of the Christmas break. We still haven't even received our colour samples as promised. Questions asked remain unanswered, and communication is poor, to their defense I can feel that they must be busy... We have already experienced big delays during the tender stage (i'm talking about at least 2 to 3 months) just because they couldn't get our Window upgrade right (their excuse was that it was an unusual request),and every time you notice a mistake it's at least 2 weeks to get back to you with another mistake!! Well...We chose this builder according feedbacks found online, and while it's true that the people we deal with are nice, the professionalism of the admin team so far before the construction stage is not up to what I've read on this forum! We hope that the construction will go smoothly,we still think that Wisdom is gonna build a nice house... We're keeping a positive attitude. There you go..FYI, if never you're interested in building with this builder. Merry Christmas ! Re: WISDOM ASPIRATION 35. We experienced the same thing - we've done some things that are out of the norm and some times the Site Supervisors just expect you to have whatever 99% of other customers have (we had the completely wrong staircase installed - will be interesting to see how they fix it - they have agreed to fix it). I've found that documenting all my queries, attaching read receipts to emails, following up phone calls asking them to confirm via email something they've said on the phone - is the best way to keep everyone on the same page. After 4 years - we're in! Re: WISDOM ASPIRATION 35. Nothing much happening..disappointing 5Dec 20, 2009 9:21 pm whoa, how did i miss this thread welcome, fred & sharon! looking forward to reading about your build in the coming year sorry to hear about your issues with the builder Re: WISDOM ASPIRATION 35. Nothing much happening..disappointing 6Dec 21, 2009 7:16 am Welcome to another Aspiration builder Sorry to hear about your delays - we had a similar thing where we had our DA approved on the 29/7 and they didn't cut our block till 11/9. You will soon come to realised that the 'art' of building a home is very much like a rollercoaster however it just feels that there are more or the slower "uphill" sections than the "downhill" quicker sections. I also have to agreed that H1 was one of our main influences for picking W due to many users good experiences - and similar to yourself have found our experience to not feel up to the same level. I for one think they have taken on more work than they can handle. The main bit of advice I can give is to be patient however do not be afraid to ring your SS constantly asking for updates as that is what they are there for! Plus do not forget that we are picture addicts so as soon as you have any sort of activity on your block you must provide us with pics as proof! Good luck Re: WISDOM ASPIRATION 35. Nothing much happening..disappointing 7Jan 14, 2010 8:54 pm Hi Stonecutter, Cielly, Sanderling, Sorry I haven't replied earlier, but knowing that they wouldn't do anything until the Christmas break is finished (well I know now that it finishes end of january!!), I stopped thinking about the built for a while and haven't visited this site since christmas! Well the office seems alive again, and things that could have been finalised months ago are being finalised...I'm signing the Colour Selection sheets (received yesterday by email) that we did on the 19 september 2009 ! Nothing will be happening before early February... I'll post some pictures of course...if I'm not dying of an old age before they start ! Talk to you guys very soon PS: Your houses look great !!!! Glad to see that you have returned to us! Remember to stay positive and once they start things tend to move quickly....we caught ourselves the other day remembering when we were jumping up and down about a site scrape and now we are getting to the juicy end of the build with all the cabinets/tiling etc... Good luck and I hope you have some action soon. Re: WISDOM ASPIRATION 35. Nothing much happening..disappointing 9Jan 15, 2010 9:53 am Hi Fred, Good to see someone traveling on the same boat. All our approvals came through by the end of October, however there was no work for the whole of November and I started to panic first and then started to push Wisd0m for the slab before the end of Dec as we had to qualify for the FHOG. We finally got our slabs 5 days before the Xmas holidays & 8 days before our deadline for FHOG. We had some issues on our landscaping drawing with the DRP back in July; I was expecting Wisd0m to follow-up on it, however after a week or so I decided to contact DRP and explain them the situation to have the matter resolved in less than a 10 minute phone call. I was furious as to why couldn’t Wis0m do the same to save us a week in waiting. While I have to agree that Wisd0m staffs are very professional & service oriented, sometimes you have to take the responsibility to keep them on their toes. This should not be such a worry when compared to other horror stories we see online. Hope to see your commencement soon. I’ve decided to update my blog from this weekend. Re: WISDOM ASPIRATION 35. Nothing much happening..disappointing 10Jan 15, 2010 10:15 am Hi Fred Just hang in there. Once things start, they tend to move pretty fast. Nothing much happening..disappointing 11Jan 30, 2010 9:32 am Yeap...thanks everyone... Still nothing.... No explanation, no commencement date... We had to take a day off last wednesday and go to their head office to fix things and withdraw some upgrades (we didn't expect to be still renting for this long!!)... They were supposed to get back to us on Friday about pricing (something that should take about 15 min to do)...nothing (don't know why but I knew it!)! Since we have only one contact who doesn't seem to work on monday and tuesday, you just loose a week very quickly! Professionals, yes, they are, because they build nice houses... But like every builder out there, there is a lack of communication and the administration bit gets done very slowly (when questions get actually answered at all). Coming from a Logistics background where everything gets done fast and everything is extremely organised, it's hard to understand... If I had to rate the first part for now...it's a 4/10... We should have a start mid February...the 5th of march is our last day to qualify for the grant. It's been a year now since we started looking at Wisdom houses!! For now they've had our deposit for a while and that's about it... Mtfranklin, Hi, I think we are in the same situation...good that you got your slab on time, all the best for the rest of your construction, at least it's starting to get exciting for you! Well...if some people out there are in the same situation, I have a trick not to get stressed about it and to get rid of the frustration... Practice a sport, I would suggest Kick or Thai boxing...works for me ! Talk to you guys later Fred Re: WISDOM ASPIRATION 35. We have a start! 12Feb 23, 2010 7:22 pm A start..... A phone call from Frank last Wednesday to tell us that we were next and things should start moving on Monday, and he was right! We have the frame for the slab, piers and tubing... All my frustration gone after this phone call, and a big smile today after seeing our land with a new face... I'm turning a page and I'm looking forward to the construction. Go Frank and Wisdom! I'll post some pics very soon! Fred Re: WISDOM ASPIRATION 35. Nothing much happening..disappointing 13Feb 23, 2010 8:55 pm Congrats on finally starting!! It is an amazing feeling watching your house go up and seeing it all come together. Enjoy every minute of it! Re: WISDOM ASPIRATION 35. Just wanted to say CONGRATS on getting your slab!!! We just got ours yesterday so I know how you're feeling....it's great isn't it?!!! It feels like we're finally getting somewhere after all the delays . Hope the rest of your build goes smoothly Re: WISDOM ASPIRATION 35. Slab ! 20Mar 03, 2010 8:29 pm Thanks for the comments guys... Pebbles, congrats on getting your slab too! Nothing really exciting (it is actually for me!), but for those who are interested I have some shots of ... piping ! (on the blog). I will keep leaving updates as often as I can. ciao All sorted guys. Just needed to buy a blade with the correct bush. Dunno how to delete this post, can't find any help file.
