Ours is going to be 2700 Cant wait to see the cost of that! sorry i dont follow what you mean there to make the garage door higher i dont belive that they lift the door up higher i thought that they dug the Garage slab down a little deeper & lifted the house slab up higher in doing this you require steps in the garage to access the house from the garage, in yur case i belive you will have a couple of steps cheers rocket Re: Garage Door Height - Lower Floor Level 4Dec 13, 2009 7:07 pm rodrocket - we have dropped our garage by 600mm, we have 2700mm ceilings, so this has made the garage in excess of 3mm tall. It's HUGE. The opening for the garage door is at least 3mtrs. So we are yet to see if they are going to put in a 3mtr high door or the standard 2700mm door with a lintel over it. Re: Garage Door Height - Lower Floor Level 5Dec 13, 2009 9:26 pm As we have 2.7 ceiling we lifted our door from 2100 to 2400 cost an extra $540 that was for the larger door. In our case it was the size of the lintel that changed not dropping the floor in the garage. In our previous home the garage slab was lower than the house slab by guessing about 100mm that was the standard when building.
