Re: netadelle's build - gee I Love my SS 16Dec 08, 2009 3:02 pm We got a letter from the builder last week notifying us of there Christmas shutdown from 22nd December to 11 Jan. I just rang our SS to find out if and when things are being done over Christmas. He gave me this run down. We will be locked up on the 14th. Our bath goes in on the 15th Kitchen goes in on the 21st. Tiling and Painting will both be done through the Christmas period. And I can email him any time if I have any concerns End of January is looking do-able! Oh oh and the brickies should be finished this afternoon I am going to pile the boys into the car and go have a look now Here is hoping they are a 'bit slow' getting the bill for the bricking out, so we don't have to pay before Christmas. Ok pictures More Sand and bricks have arrived http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/ee153/netadelle/Build/IMG_0497.jpg The unfinished insulated wall http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/ee153/netadelle/Build/IMG_0514.jpg The cutouts for the Home Theatre room - somehow they looked better in my head http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/ee153/netadelle/Build/IMG_0510.jpg Re: netadelle's build 18Dec 08, 2009 3:23 pm Elli I hope so, my Dad did point out that they are just holes and can easily be covered over. Re: netadelle's build 20Dec 08, 2009 8:13 pm TamDaz Pleased to see your own thread. Now you just have to catch up with those bricking pics too, given they are extremely close to finishing if not already done. Let your kids use the nails for hammering into scraps of wood. I too collected nails and off cuts of timber, which I will take to school (I'm a teacher) for the kids to 'play' with. Recycling My Dad is a tech studies teacher at a public school. He took the nails in for them to use! Elli That is true, you could also make a feature out of them and put those plantation shutters in them, some others on here have done that with their house and it looks fantastic You hit it on the head! that is exactly what I was planning to do And have bi-fold plantation shutter type doors to close it off. Mind you since we are going for the whole Japanese rock garden theme maybe we could go with paper doors. I wonder where you would get those from?? Thank you so much everyone. This all makes a lot of sense. I guess when you talk to a builder who butters up everything to look very polished, you get to start believing… 8 2249 Please google this video regarding the Regulations for a Laundry trough: i-dont-want-laundry-tub-can-i-use-sink-instead 13 12195 Render your bathroom walls, two opinions versus the one, makes you wonder. 3 4203 |
