Up here you also wouldn't be allowed to change the nature strip as it is owned by council.... The lighting is amazing though and I love the feel of the way they have done the front, just lose the crazy paving and I'd like it more Re: What a stunning front garden!!!! 16Jan 05, 2008 11:01 am Michelle I love this style of home. All the elements are there! Stone, timber, render and brick……well balanced and looks fantastic! Wish it was the front of my place. I thought you'd like it Michelle.... Re: What a stunning front garden!!!! 17Jan 05, 2008 11:05 am BTW anyone considering lighting up the outside of their homes should take a drive around some of the suburbs in the evening to get some ideas. My philosophy on lighting both internal and external is it should add to the mood and presentation but should not draw attention to lights.
The photo that Phoenix posted earlier is quite a good example (although the angle of the photo looks a bit low), you are taken with the house and garden and don’t quite understand what makes it stand out if you get my drift. Re: What a stunning front garden!!!! 18Jan 05, 2008 11:09 am When I’m choosing selections for new homes, I try to talk the client into introducing a stone wall somewhere on the façade. But unfortunately the cost of it puts them off.
So they don’t get to appreciate the effects of all the elements. Where I live on the south coast of NSW, colorbond and timber is till big, I’m over the colorbond…..and out by the water too much timber means too much up-keep. It’s hard call at times. ENJOY!!! Re: What a stunning front garden!!!! 20Jan 08, 2008 6:42 am How many times did you do a “drive by” to get the photos?
