Re: For those of you who HAVE porcelain tiles... 13Nov 25, 2009 8:33 pm i should have added in my last post : Are the tiles square edged(90 degree) or recessed edge(about a 45 degree bevel)? If they are recessed the gap between the tiles may only be 1mm but the grout gap level with the top of the tile will be about 3-4mm. If square edged then there is no option but to pull up and relay to get a minimal gap. Re: For those of you who HAVE porcelain tiles... 14Nov 25, 2009 8:48 pm I feel sick. We were out at the house today and all the tiles are down but not grouted. They are SOOO uneven. The tiles arent straight and some even have gaps ranging from 5mm to 1mm on the same tile Some are jutting up and you can feel the edges when walking on them. We had my husbands cousin who is a tiler visiting the area with us and he said the job was shocking and should be ripped up... I dont know what to do Re: For those of you who HAVE porcelain tiles... 15Nov 27, 2009 10:49 am From somebody that has been totally ripped-off by a tiler before...Have them ripped up (and or fixed) if you are not happy. You walk on your floors every day and it can really affect you you view the entire house - for me that means I am now building again!). Not sure about the grout sizing (would have to see pictures - but uneven-ness (raised edges) is the worst thing! Good luck and hope you get it sorted to your satisfaction! We had a shocking job done on our last house. There were sooo many that were sticking up, to the point where you would stub your toe on them. I wish we had of noticed before we took the keys and moved in, as it always irritated me. They were polished porcelain, and we paid extra to have them laid, but I don't think the tiler took any extra time to do them. https://form.jotform.com/240284569218058 Please spare a moment to fill out this survey form for a project.
