Browse Forums General Discussion Re: Cleaning tiles and shower screens 12Nov 24, 2009 6:25 pm I use a 99cent Ikea squeegy after everytime I have a shower. I squeegy the tiles, the glass and the floor. Since moving in about 2 months ago, I have only cleaned the shower once, and it didn't really need it anyway! No soap scum (and I use Dove), no mould and no discoloured (orange) grout. When I do clean the shower, I use Jiff lemon cream cleanser and rinse it off well. I used Easy Off Bam once in our old bathroom, where I never had a problem with mould. After using it, I had mould....I'll never use it again! Prevention is better than a cure!! Bit of a Rolls Royce of squeegees there. I was just thinking of a simple blade. And then there's training people to use it... I started the wipe after every shower habit (with a cloth) when we moved in but no-one else did. Re: Cleaning tiles and shower screens 15Nov 25, 2009 6:27 am Like I said....monkeys.... The blade on its own is fine if it's used after every shower. Once you have soapy crap and/or mould though, you have to clean it off with something before you get busy with the squeegee. I hit it with some Selleys Ultra Professional Bathroom Cleaner to remove soap scum. And some foamy bleach stuff (like SuH mentioned) for any yukky bits. My squeegee gets a lot of use, and from memory it was cheap... And yes: Safeway/Woolworths - same thing. Hi everyone.
