So good not having to pay for a phone line we don't use. HOWEVER!!! Keep in mind though if you have a house alarm that calls out to your mobile it requires a standard phone line. Hence when we move into our new house we have to go back to Telstra & standard ADSL. Not very happy about that but the alarm doesn't work on the VOIP line. iinet are good to advise you of this though which is great. i don't have naked (yet!) OR a monitored alarm, but I've heard many alarm systems let you use a mobile phone these days. Just have one sitting there permanently connected to a recharger and the alarm system - it gets around power outage issues too I'll use this chance to plug another forum I use a lot - Whirlpool broadband forums, http://www.whirlpool.net.au - everything you wanted to know about broadband in Australia and more! I just couldn't find any threads on the iinet boards about building a new house, rather than just moving to an established house, which is why I posted here rather than there! Bob wasn't 'available' then... so I had to get naked with his predecessor, 'Belkin'. You may be able to change your alarm to use a mobile phone call the monitoring company, or even your own mobile so you can cut the monitoring company out of the loop. 8 40697 I haven’t. But have a Lowe Design home. Not only did I find Matt Lowe patronising and a bully, but the home is NOT TO CODE. I have water coming through the bricks… 1 31218 Nothing yet, have been distracted this year with work related projects and a new kid but hoping to start building one way or another early next year.
