Somerfield Estate Keysborough

Hello,

We are new here and have just put a deposit on some land at Somerfield Estate in Keysborough. I am just so excited! This will be the first house we have bought (thinking about Fairhaven Homes, The Glenaire) and now we are house obsessed...There isn't any road access to our block yet, so we spend our weekends driving around the estate looking at our block from a distance.

Anyone else bought in Somerfield yet?

We are Lot 79 Clarendon Drive (from 1-C) - Trying to wait patiently for settlement next month! When did you buy? Are you looking to build soon?

Congrats on your land purchase. Can I ask what price range the blocks are and what size?
That's a nice floorplan too.

Ummm, I think the prices started in the mid $200's for 400sq but went up to $400 for the 800sq blocks. We got a middle of the range block of 500sq for just over $300...expensive land I know but we are just a few minutes from Eastlink, the beach and our work, so worth it for us

We absolutely love the Glenaire floor plan and feel of the house - I'm a little nervous about a going with a smaller builder but they seem good to deal with so far.

Ummm, I think the prices started in the mid $200's for 400sq but went up to $400 for the 800sq blocks. We got a middle of the range block of 500sq for just over $300...expensive land I know but we are just a few minutes from Eastlink, the beach and our work, so worth it for us

Wow those prices are quite amazing

Especially when you consider that Keysborough isn't all that far from us and we got a 700sqm block for $215k and we are 1 block from the waterways. Prices have gone up around here in the last year and it really makes you wonder where they are heading!

But they are selling bloody quick. Apparently they released 2 more sections 2 a couple of weeks ago and people were lining up from 5am and they were almost all gone by the end of the weekend...

I'm glad we got in when we did, coz the prices have gone up with each release. There is only a certain amount of land left in Melbourne so unfortunately it will only get higher and higher and blocks will be smaller and smaller.

I am signing a contract tomorrow, stage 1J.
We are buying the smallest bock which is 400sq at $274000.
Prices are rising fast, and can wait to see when the whole estates finish. Should be nice.

I have noticed on the other side of Greens Rd Australand has aquired the empty land so I think there will be another estate eventually opposite Somerfield.

If you are heading from Dandenong Sth along Greens Rd, is Somerfield located on the right before or after the Eastlink motorway?

I think its after Eastlink.

Yep, its just after eastlink on the right.

I wish i could build straight away but land doest settle till April next year.

hi kara and andrew and fellow somerfield land owners,
i stumbled across this site while searching for something else and thought how interesting! we bought some land , lot 30 in stage 1a, settlement is this fri! its been a long journey, but only a few more sleeps to go now. we have been looking for a suitable house, but havent found any yet. with a tight budget, trying to achieve a 7 star energy rating and also the extras we need to address, its been a struggle so far. we were looking at the malvern with rawdon hills, but couldnt commit before the price increase, so we are back to square 1! happy house hunting to you all!

How big is your block? And budget? I got a 400sq block and i am going with Burbank Evolution, which is the Future series (7star energy rating). Have a look at Burbank's Future series.
I am also glad to hear Stage 1a's land settles soon.

our block is 512sqm. good news is i have since found a house i like, its the santorini by metricon. price, design and promotional extras all are very good, so now waiting for site costs. stage 1 was settled last month, we just got an extension when we signed our contract!

Curiosity got the better of me and we had a look at Somerfield yesterday whilst we were out and about. I think it will be very nice and the location is fantastic, no doubt that is what has bumped the prices up. I just hope that because the blocks are small, it doesn't end up being very squashed in with large houses having very little yard space.

Hi all

Was doing some research on builders and happened to stumble on this website

We just bought a piece of land in the Somerfield Estate, and were lucky enough to pick up a block in the Claremont Precint (Stage 1B). Anyone else purchase a lot down this end?

Now the hard part of finding a house design and builder we like!

Who is everyone else going with?

We are also building the Santorini at Somerfield. Our land titles at the end of October. If M wasnt so busy we might have started building b4 xmas but it looks like we'll be starting in the new year. Im so excited!

Simonds have already started building 3 Display homes near the sales office. Before xmas Im sure they'll be up to lock up.

We purchased land in the Claremont Precint Stage 1E on Church Rd back in March
Our block is 512sqm and we are getting impatient waiting for the land to be finished and titled.
We have picked at our house and everything is organised for us to start building.
So once the land is ready we will start.
Just Can't wait!!!
