Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Where has my driveway gone? 3Dec 26, 2007 6:18 pm Hi Jewel, Merry Christmas, i know you're in The Chase like us... Give Wendy Wood at AV Jennings a call on 13 18 78. She will be able to look into things with you. Alternatively you can go through the Sales Office on-site in the Chase as they have the Engineering Drawings there too... but they might refer you back to Head Office.
Call Wendy at Head office and see what they have to say.... It might be a simple mistake or alternatively they have changed the engineering drawings for whatever reason... Make sure you measure the difference between yours and your neighbours side of the driveway so that you can let Wendy know....also take some digital photos that you can offer to e-mail to her as well. By the way, i thought that your title release was going to be mid-December??? - what happened???) Good Luck, i hope that helps. Re: Where has my driveway gone? 5Dec 28, 2007 9:38 am That's not as silly as it sounds. Maybe the driveway is aligned to your true boundary ? Re: Where has my driveway gone? 6Dec 28, 2007 9:48 am Cabinfever That's not as silly as it sounds. Maybe the driveway is aligned to your true boundary ? Even if it is an issue of true boundary, the adjacent driveways should be of equal sizing. Also i'd ask how the developer can change the driveway from a single to a double without any advice to the land owners??? (Even if it is prior to settlement???) Would that be a sort of breach of contract??? Thanks all! 7Dec 28, 2007 5:31 pm Hello all,
Thanks for the advice. Yes Phoenix our title was supposed to happen in mid-December but nothing happened. When we visited the Chase this pas tweekend we noticed that they are still working on the subdivision. Hubby already took pics of the driveway and tomorrow we will go back to measure it. I also think it is a bit odd that no one told us they were changing our driveway from a single to a double. We just found out when we went to have a look. But we will definately be contacting Wendy with pics and measurments. It is so glaringly obvious that the driveway is off center. Does it sound funny that we stood on the dirt and took pics of us standing on the block, lol. Flys were killing us but we grabbed a few pics and ran for the car. Behind our block is a drop because we are at the edge of the development and they filled our side of the road a bit. But there were no cows! I was worried that because there was farm on the other side, we would have cows at our back fence, lol. Thanks again for all the advice. Everyone here rocks! Nope not at all....after all it will be YOURS soon....do a dance on it if you really want to, no-one would mind.... ....unless of course you're really bad dancers God Luck with Wendy, she's lovely, you'll be fine. Let us know what happens. Re: Thanks all! 10Dec 28, 2007 9:31 pm jewel47 Does it sound funny that we stood on the dirt and took pics of us standing on the block, lol. Not at all. We took pics outside the house we purchased on the day after we signed the contracts. We also took pics putting the 'sold' sticker on the sign too (the agent let us do it). The owner (seller) saw us and encouraged us to take more! To my understanding early saw cuts are to control shrinkage cracks, so doing them now would be pointless. Control joints may reduce ugly cracking during periods of soil… 3 9795 Hi all I need a guidance on how far I need to space expansion joints in the concrete driveway and its type (keyway/foam.) Contraction joints are at 3m max for a 125 slab. Thanks 0 10890 |
