Re: Ceaser Stone Bench Tops, How much extra did you pay Help pls 16Oct 30, 2009 8:37 pm My experience to date is builders are adding a minimum of 25% on top of anything and sometimes up to 100% of they think they can get away with it.. Going through the process now and for what it is worth I had gloss laminex in a new house built in 2001. When I sold that place in 2001 the laminex still looked like new.... Its hard sometimes to justify the cost of stone, especially when you consider what thousands can be spent on in other areas... Gotta be more than that, I cannot believe the gouging builders attempted and then purchasers allow! I've done 40mm QQ throughout the house- 2x bathrooms, laundry and kitchen and still spent only $4k. Probably only about 10m worth but the labour is what makes up the majority of the stone price. Add up the cutouts and finishing required on the exposed sides of the bench and it adds up quick. But these builders are just taking advantage! Then again, you should know the pricing before signing so don't like it...walk away! Re: Ceaser Stone Bench Tops, How much extra did you pay Help pls 18Oct 31, 2009 11:44 am Why not go for granite? It's a natural product, so is less likely to date than caesarstone. The price of average granite is the same or less than caesarstone (so a builder admitted to me). For my new house - kitchen and 5 vanities, the cost of all the vanities including granite benchtops is a total of $16,000 (trade price). Yes, that's 2-pak kitchen cabinets, 5 bathroom vanities and granite benchtops.
