Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Dec 16, 2007 4:51 pm Hi all,
Our house is at frame stage and they have done the groundfloor last week. we noticed that the frame sticks out a bit (approximately 1.5-2 inches) on the LHS of the front door area. for approximately 1.5 metres. Otherwise, all along the perimeter of the house it sits flush with the edge of the slab. I have posted a photo here. Is this a problem? Any implications on 'support' or load bearing here? http://img155.imageshack.us/my.php?image=home1ql6.jpg Re: A question about frame 2Dec 16, 2007 6:46 pm It looks like they were a little bit out when they poured the slab.
I think the bottom plate can overhang the slab by no more than 10mm, so in this case the solution is to dynabolt a piece of timber to the side of the slab to provide additional support. The same thing happened on my place. No big deal. Re: A question about frame 3Dec 17, 2007 6:59 am It looks bad, but it happens (more often than it should). The more important thing is that the inside of the fame lines up with the line you see marked in the picture.
