Browse Forums Kitchen Splashbacks 1 Oct 24, 2009 12:34 pm I finally have my kitchen in and love it, but I am really struggling with the splashback colour. The kitchen is open to the family area (where we have a dining table and buffet) and this then goes into the rumpus room. This is what we have so far: cupboards - dulux white on white satin finish in a shaker style bench - caeserstone Osprey kickplate - looks like brushed stainless but I think it is laminex window frames - dulux white on white doors and architraves - white on white skirting boards - grand piano (same colour as wall to hide them) walls - grand piano small feature wall - dulux linseed ceilings - white New wooden furniture is made of tassie oak, and it is I suppose a light chocolate colour (very hard to explain as I haven't see it anywhere else. It isn't dark chocolate, it isn't the orangey or walnut sort of colours either). Lounges are in a wide cordoroy which is a chocolate colour. Kitchen and family are tiled in a light colour, pretty much like grand piano. So this is what I am thinking. How about a splashback in Porters Cardinal? It is a bit of a purply red colour. It is quite dark and dramatic but not sure if I'm brave enough to take the risk as I have a fair amount of splashback! Otherwise I'm thinking a green like Porters Eden. Re: Yes another splashback issue! 2Oct 25, 2009 2:44 pm Splashbacks are a hard one. Going through my own dilemas so i feel your pain. I'm no colour expert but sometimes it nice to just get an opinion, i think with your white kitchen, just about any colour would look good. I do like that eden green colour though and think it will look nice with the linseed feature wall. Maybe get a sample pot so you can see how it looks on a larger scale as it can look much darker. The Eden colour will bring in the colour of the trees that are outside the window and I think will go well with the earthy furniture, but it won't really be WOW! Here are a couple of pics of the kitchen to date. The sliding door and window will be painted White on White to match the kitchen cupboards. http://img8.imageshack.us/img8/7996/img0015xq.jpg http://img195.imageshack.us/img195/1939/img0016sx.jpg And here is a pic of the dining setting we are getting. The rest of the furniture (Buffet, console table, side tables, entertainment unit will match). http://img196.imageshack.us/img196/6840/img0008im.jpg If I go with Porters Eden for the splashback do you think I can use Dulux Linseed as a feature wall (the wall immediately to the left of the breakfast bar and behind the entertainment unit in the rumpus room)? The rest of the walls will be grand piano with White on White doors and architraves. thanks heaps! PS - sorry the photos are a bit blurry - took them with my phone! The bench is Osprey even though it doesn't look it in the photo! The colours I'm thinking about are painted on the wall.
