It took us about 4.5 hours. She costed up everything for us that we thought we'd consider getting, and we have a week to decide what we want. We've gone through our list and everything we want comes ot about $13,000, and thats with a few sacrifices!! Our budget was around $7000 so we have blown that a bit! We don't have to pay until lock up stage though, which is good. I'll put up a list tomorrow of all our upgrades etc. Building with Ventura homes (WA) Building thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=20516 Slab: 17/04/10, Bricking started: 12/05/10, Bricking finished: 2/06/10, Roof frame done: 11/06/10, Colorbond on: 14/07/10, Lock Up: 19/08/10, Cabinets: 25/08/10, Tiling done: 28/09/10, Electrical: 2/10/10, PCI: 29/10/10, Keys: 4/11/10 Re: Our home with Ventura (WA) - Prestart completed 145Oct 14, 2009 12:56 am Look foreward to your post tomorrow kara Glad to hear it went well , bummer about the budget My building thread viewtopic.php?f=1&t=25279 NEARLY DONE. I did love that first feature tile you put up but those patterned tiles don't come cheap I'm afraid look forward to seeing your final selections Re: Our home with Ventura (WA) - Prestart completed 151Oct 14, 2009 12:29 pm Hi Kara, Glad your pre-start went well! Doubling your budget for most things is just part of building a home Just a heads up that mitred tiling 'shouldn't' cost you that much. As a reference, my builder's standard price is $300 to upgrade the whole house to mitred tiles... Interestingly enough, when I built with Ventura I forgot about it, but thankfully the tiler mentioned it on the morning of our site meeting and did a cashie (still only about $200). With that said it is worth the extra cost as it does make the bathroom look more 'finished'. Unless that man is Chuck Norris. Re: Our home with Ventura (WA) - Prestart completed 154Oct 14, 2009 8:42 pm Hello everyone, thanks for your comments! Rizzo - Total extra tiling costs for labour (ensuite, bathroom, laundry and toilet) to lay 300x600 wall tile, 300x300 porcelain floor tile, centre feature tiles down back wall of showers, and mitred tiling to both bathrooms cost $2719 jpeg - $62 was to add new double GPOs, not upgrade from a single. They are pricey hey! SuH - yessss i loveddddd that patterned tile, so pretty. I don't think it would have matched our house though, and yeah like you said they are very expensive. I hope our bathroom floor tiles are easy to keep clean like you say! Perth 1st Timer - they have charged us $468 per bathroom (!!!) for the mitred tiling. I think that may be because the tile is porcelain base, as we are also getting charged extra for that. At the end of the day though, it was pretty much the only floor tile we really really liked, so I think I'd prefer to just pay the extra rather than go back and try find another one Thanks thechlochlo and Jodie80 - I'm glad its over! KEYS ON 5/11 AT 1PM Re: Our home with Ventura (WA) - Prestart completed 156Oct 15, 2009 9:39 am Oh yes I meant to come back and answer kirsada's question, thats for reminding me camyperth! Roof: colorbond surfmist garage door: colorbond surfmist Front door: Timber pivot door Window frames: white main render: taubmans smoke haze (like a light grey) portico render: taubmans zelda..... I think that was the colour, it was a dark grey, but now I can't find it on our colour chart haha. Their interior designer came in and helped us and suggested those colours so we just went with it, we were over it by then! We originally didn't like the surfmist garage but on the morning of prestart we decided to just go with it because we like the roof colour and at least with white roof and garage we can change our render colour scheme around anytime. Hopefully it looks okay!
