Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jul 30, 2009 11:31 am Hi all ! My partner and I are 2 weeks away from our land settling in bluestone green estate. For the past 3 weeks we have been emailing our sales consultant with JG KING HOMES, and getting no response. As we are only 2 weeks away from settling we had details we wanted to go over with him, final plans etc. After receiving NO response at all for 3 weeks, i have this morning called the head office to be told " oh he hasnt worked here for the last 3ish weeks " I was shocked, no one had the decency to let us know, we have been dealing with them for 6mnths and our sales consultant is just gone ??? The receptionist put me through to someone who then told me " i cant see anything here under your names, ill have a dig around and let u know " And that was that. Now, maybe its just me, but i find this kind of service outrageous. When was anyone going to let us know ? Where are our plans ? Where is our contract ? And who is looking after us. Anyone else having problems with JG KING feel free to respond, not even started building yet and it seems to be problems !!! Re: JG KING HOMES - WYNDHAM VALE VIC 2Jul 30, 2009 4:31 pm Its a pretty bad service. My experience with JG King so far has been good. The salesperson has been quick to respond via email. I had to call if i didnt get a reply, though. Never expected them to callback. Have you paid the initial deposit & received the drawings. Because there should be two people you can contact - salesperson & someone in administration. Unless they both have left. I had 3 people handling my file within a month because 2 people left. Good luck & keep this post updated. Re: JG KING HOMES - WYNDHAM VALE VIC 3Jul 30, 2009 6:44 pm We started with JG King (also in Wyndham vale) but it soon got so frustrated that we just decided to go somewhere else. They were very slow to do anything. Didn't respond to emails or even voice-mail. And this was before we gave them any money Trying this building gig one more time. Re: JG KING HOMES - WYNDHAM VALE VIC 5Mar 17, 2010 11:56 pm hi, my partner and i had the opposite reaction,we were very keen on burbank but found that they would not budge an inch in regards to price, we dealt with 3 separate salespersons and the-their quote was was just outside our budgetable maximum but they would not help us out,it was as though they didnt want our business. One particular salesman was quite snooty and abruptly rude.... we ended up going with Jg King, all was well until we were told that our site costs would be more than double what was quoted- 16 days from settlement, currently trying to sort out the stressful mess so far not very happy with how things are panning out but we are hopeful of coming to a fair outcome....will re post once the dust settles. Re: JG KING HOMES - VIC 6May 28, 2010 9:41 pm I am just starting with JG King. I've paid a deposit ad they have done the drawings and plans but have still not given the site cost. They say that they can give / reveal the site costs only at the tender meeting. I am building my first home and have no idea as to how the tender meeting process would be and how with what information I should be prepared with. If someone who had gone thru this process can give some advice, it would be very helpful. Tks Re: JG KING HOMES - WYNDHAM VALE VIC 7May 28, 2010 10:15 pm My partners sister built with them. It took them 18 months to actually get started on their house. I think it actually took them going to their office and making a scene, for them to actually get somewhere, and within a short period of time, they started their house. I would suggest you look at Hiker's thread. He is building with them, and has pictures of their not so great workmanship and outlines all the issues he has with them. It seems that lots of builders don't communicate very well pre-construction. contract signed: Nov 09 Released to Construction: 23 Jul 10 Slab poured: 9 Aug 10 Frame completed: 30 Aug 10 Windows & Gutters: 7 Sep 10 Bricks: 15 - 23 Sep 10 Roof: 24 Sep 10 Gyprock: 20 Oct 10 Lockup: 25 Oct 10 Kitchen: 27 Oct 10 Tiling: 6 - 9 Nov 10 Painting: 17 Nov 10 Carpet: 30 Nov 10 PCI: 15 Dec 10 Handover: 17 Dec 10 https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=35943 I would never build with Fowler homes.
