Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Aug 24, 2009 1:50 pm Hi Everyone, After many months of waiting we finally have had a start on our Sirocco 7. It might only be a loo but it is something. It is a 750m2 block in the Southern Tablelands. We won't be built out the back as it is school land. We are in a dead end street as well so know through traffic. Hubby is very pleased about having clear sight to the TV towers.
Here are some photos of our block and loo. (hope they work) Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Here are our plans. The only changes we made from the original was changing around the window and sliding door in the Great Room, Moved the window in Bed 3 to allow for the tank to be at the back, Separate toilet and bathroom, increase depth of Pantry, add door to WIR and Single Garage door. Hopefully we will get a call from someone telling us when they will start digging. We have our coins ready to throw in the slab. Re: R and R's Masterton Sirocco 7 - A port-a-loo 4Aug 24, 2009 9:41 pm Hi R & R, That view is awesome! What direction does your block face ie will you get beautiful sunsets over the hills? Its a lovely big block and knowing that you won't get built out is wonderful, that view will always be yours! Excellent choice of brick if I do say so myself! But you already knew that! Any timeframe on a slab? - I am very impatient Never argue with an idiot they drag you down to their level & then beat you with experience - Dilbert View Thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=19733 Contract signed 14Sept Slab 30Sept Bricks laid 1Dec Lock up 26Feb Keys 10Jun Re: R and R's Masterton Sirocco 7 - A port-a-loo 5Aug 24, 2009 10:02 pm Hi R and R, I went for drive out there today while i was in town and it is a beautiful view, nice street, perfect!! Re: R and R's Masterton Sirocco 7 - A port-a-loo 6Aug 25, 2009 12:11 pm Thanks everyone. Our view to the back is east but our alfresco will be to the north, on the left hand side looking at the block. Our games room will have a view to the back. No news on a slab yet. Will have to just keep doing drive bys. Hopefully they appoint a SS soon. Over the last two days they have been cutting and filling the block. I was a bit worried about the front but it looks okay now. Thought we might have to put in a retaining wall. Our SS rang this morning to introduce himself and he sounds really nice. DH is going to try and meet up with him tomorrow. He said that we should have a slab by the end of next week and then they order the frame. Feels a bit more real now. My eldest son said that it had Office written on it. Maybe one for the boss and one for the tradies. We were all very excited. They also have started to box the slab. It is high off the ground at the back so not sure what we will do there. The SS said we should be pouring the slab next week. Re: R and R's Masterton Sirocco 7 - Piers 18Sep 10, 2009 9:26 pm I think I was more excited about the truck than the kids. It is only allowed to rain during the night from now on. I have a feeling our build could go a bit slow as there are a number of Masterton homes going up at the same time.
