Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Henley Flooring Promotion 11Sep 10, 2009 8:10 pm We got S**kwood flooring throught out entire house except bathroom, laundry toilet and bedrooms and it came to about $95 a mtre installed with underlay. I think its single strip, cant remember though. Total for that was just under $6000. Our carpets including underlay and installation was about $3000. We chose pretty premium stuff too. What else is everyone looking at for floors? We tried to negotiate it for free too thinking we would just replace it in a couple of years but our tender presenter wouldn't budge. Sort of grateful now though because i looooove what we have chosen instead. Building a H3nl3y Charleton- its a home, not a house. That's why I wasn't too fussed if the Henley flooring option wasn't 'all my heart's desire'. I've got time to save up for some speccie floors now! Re: Henley Flooring Promotion 14Jan 22, 2010 3:50 pm hmmm I'm no expert but I thought laminate flooring and engineered floorboards mean the same thing, i.e. man-made/fabricated timber-look on the top-most layer? I have spotted gum floorboards for the common areas bar wet areas and carpets for all rooms. Paid $120 per sq meter for spotted gum floorboards with underlay installed. Love the exotic colours and the high janka index for spotted gum. Hi, If you give a set of criteria as to what means 'good' to you, it'll give others prompts to respond. We considered Henley early on but there were two factors that… 1 11279 1000000% definitely add insulation. I have in my home and it makes a big difference minimising sound transfer. Insulation is pretty cheap and definitely worth it 2 6297 Engineering timber is certainly a less fuss option, times cheaper to supply and install and better withstands humidity. 1 16050 |
