Would welcome any comments regarding Kit Homes Australia (Glencrest Homes), Blue Hills Cottages or Harkaway Homes. Looking at building a kit home in Western Victoria. Any comments regarding other companies would also be welcome. Thanks Jenny Victoria, Australia Re: Comments on kit home companies sought 2Feb 13, 2006 10:40 pm Hi,
Check out my page at http://www.spin.net.au/~shamash before you decide to buy. Not all KHS are the same and the ones that cannot satisfy the questions you must ask should be avoided. Make the Bill Of Materials the main plank of your questioning. This should include QUANTITIES and SPECIFICATIONS. They don't have to supply it but you will find any problems will almost certainly involve the materials and you need to be in the position of knowing exactly what you're supposed to get for your money. Remember, most KHS buy materials and sell them to you at a profit, plain and simple. Cheers. Re: Comments on kit home companies sought 3Aug 19, 2006 12:19 am hello
I'm interested in Kit Homes to so am just bumping up the thread issitoq, you sound like you really had your fingrers burnt at one point over a KHS, did it work out OK in the end Re: Comments on kit home companies sought 4Nov 26, 2006 9:40 pm Just got my internet connection on after several months.
I was silly to put trust in my supplier and eventually went my own way and completed the project, NOT on time and NOT on budget. To be fair the KHS wasn't the only problem, tradespeople were a nightmare but thats another story. Re: Comments on kit home companies sought 6Nov 29, 2006 7:03 pm I won't expand too much, suffice to say that a lot of tradespeople will try to do the least work in the quickest time for the most money. Some may say "whats wrong with that" but that leaves customer service out in the cold shivering along with quality workmanship (read: caring about what you do).
