Browse Forums Paving & Concreting Re: Concreting up to the slab of a home 2Aug 26, 2009 3:01 pm Recently did this but unfortunately waited until my house was completed. What i should have done is to use the builders concreting team. My advice is to get any pergola, living area etc drawn into your plans and get any concreting done in the building stage. Not as an "add on" as i did. There should be no problems concreting up to an existing slab but a simple conversation with the site boss will confirm that. Daryl Re: Concreting up to the slab of a home 3Aug 28, 2009 7:45 pm Thanks for your reply Daryl. At the time my budget would not allow for any extra concreting by the builder. I will be sure to ask the ss ![]() Re: Concreting up to the slab of a home 4Aug 28, 2009 9:07 pm Majority of people get a driveway done which goes up to the slab and I've never heard of that voiding a warranty so I don't think it happens 'A bottle of wine contains more philosophy than all the books in the world.' Re: Concreting up to the slab of a home 6Aug 28, 2009 11:35 pm ![]() I am looking at concreting options and a friend of mine suggested that I ask the builder that if i have concrete poured which meets the slab will my warranty be compromised. Has anyone heard of this?? I was hoping to concrete in exposed agg. where the future entertaining area is going but am not too sure now. I'm not sure I understand the question, but as long as the entertaining area concrete is below the level of the damp proof course, drainage holes and certain types of termite proofing then I'm not sure what the problem would be? What did the builder say? Re: Concreting up to the slab of a home 7Aug 29, 2009 6:42 am Our builder told us any concreting to the house paths ect would just need to make sure it ties in so to speak with the footings like the driveway and porch footing have been placed for our place as we couldnt get the porch concrete at time of pour due to it needing to be exposed ag http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o194/millymonster/P8260177.jpg Like this i guess we want some more paths after build which we told the builder but i dont know how we tie it to the slab footings after without these. its all to technical for me fall this way slope that way dont do this do this follow the engineers report blah blah i get lost and leave it all to the other half Re: Concreting up to the slab of a home 8Aug 29, 2009 8:52 am Thanks for all the replies they are appreciated.
