Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Is anyone building with PERRY HOMES in QLD or Northern NSW?? 96Aug 01, 2009 11:53 pm HI EVERYONE : DOES ANYONE BUILD WITH PERRY RECENTLY ? IS THERE LOTS OF HIDDEN COST WITH THEM ? SEEMS LIKE THEIR COMMUNICATION IS A BIG ISSUE BUT HOW ABOUT THEIR QUALITY ? HOW FAST OR HOW SLOW THE PROCESS CAN BE ? IF WE BUILD HOUSE WITH THEM WHAT THINGS DO WE NEED TO PAY EXTRA ATTENTION ? IT IS OUR FIRST HOME WE HAVEN'T MADE ANY DECISION BTW PETTYHOMES AND CORALHOMES YET SO WILL BE VERY APPRECITATE IF YOU GUYS COULD SHARE YOUR EXPERIENCES WITH US . THANKS A LOT. RING Re: Is anyone building with PERRY HOMES in QLD or Northern NSW?? 97Aug 02, 2009 7:51 am We went all the way with PH and Coral Homes and decided to go with the latter at the end. The PH sales guy was lovely, I did not have the idea that there would be any hidden costs. His reply was quickly and accurate at any request but at the end of the day the difference between the two houses remained 6K and we are on a budget. Also we were a little bit worried about the financial health of PH. Here at the Sunshine Coast it is very quiet around them. Also they couldn't say anything about a start date, only that it could be at the end of this year, which was too late for us. Furthermore I learned a lot from the comments on this Forum and expected that the communication with other parts of the Company would not be so good as with the Sales Guy and we had put a lot of effort in the level of comm. with CH. We honestly couldn't face another battle. Also learned from several comments that CH's big possitive is the accessibility of the building site. We live on site and want to install underfloor heating and Acoustic Insulation ourselves when the frame is up. PH seems less approachable in this regard. Regarding quality I do believe that PH's build could be of a higher standard but that opinion is based on the extras we asked quotes for. I appreciate your situation, Ring and maybe you could have a look at other builders too and get a feeling about issues like quality of building, communication and price in order to make a balanced choice? Good luck Re: Is anyone building with PERRY HOMES in QLD or Northern NSW?? 98Aug 03, 2009 7:47 am Hi ring wherabouts are you planning on building? i am also considering Perry homes. Liked their Byron and Seville home designs as they have bigger kitchens and better inclusions then other builders. I found thier quality looks good but after reading this forum i heard bad remarks on their communications. As we will be building in Warner does any one have experience with the sales guy at warner lakes? Would love to hear from any one who are building or looking to build 2009. Cheers 2pais Re: Is anyone building with PERRY HOMES in QLD or Northern NSW?? 99Aug 04, 2009 10:43 pm Hi everyone : Thanks all for your reply and concern , after research on last weekend , we are more prefer Coral Homes as our SC is very professional and honest compared with PH. Our land is subject to Small Lot Code which we found out after we purchased , when we went to PH at Calamvale, the SC told us he 's very sure that we could build a double Garage however based on our study what he said was conflict with SLC, as confirmation we went to another PH and told them about our situation , they first told us the same thing after they knew that we are quite familiar with SLC then told us has to comply with it. This made us feels like a little bit concerned , if they don't know about SLC and promise sth that not gonna happen in future , problems will happen then . Another thing is if we work out the price carefully , there is not that big price difference btw CH and PH, as the basic Price of CH is 10000 to 15000 cheaper than PH. Although I still think the quality of PH is good but I am sure the cost will be higher as well . We would like to share any experience with all of you , all the best to everyone !
