Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Dec 07, 2004 9:15 pm We are building a new kitchen as part of our renovations. It will be part of a new family room which will have heaps of natural light.
The floor will be floorboards. The bench tops might be wood - would it then be too much to have wooden cupboard doors, or should htey be painted/laminated in a colour to brighten it up? Even if we go with some granite look bench tops, do you think the wooden or coloured doors would look better? SO many bits & pieces to decide on! Re: Kitchen styles and colours 3Dec 08, 2004 9:15 am I agree with Bella- I'd go with the stone benchtops, for elegant looks as well as durability. I'm really liking some of these new fabricated stone counters - some of them look fabulous! keep it simple. Re: Kitchen styles and colours 5Dec 08, 2004 11:24 am Thanks!
I thought wood with wooden floor would look good, but just worried it'd be too much Re: Kitchen styles and colours 6Apr 27, 2006 7:26 pm I guess that it comes down to personal preference.
A friend of mine has sydney bluegum flooring and spotted gum cabinets with black granite tops. It looks lovely and rich and not overbearing. In our case we have a different style of home so have gone white cabinets against brushbox flooring. This is a photo of the display - our benchtop will be almond rocca caesarstone.
