We originally chose Banur Earth too, but then I got scared at last minute and changed to Kimberley Lime which is exactly like Banur Cloud which is the lighter of the Banur Earth. Now that it is all in, I sort of wish I had stuck with the Banur Earth because I think it is all to wishy washy. When I inject some colour with towels and accessories though it should be ok. Yours is going to look fab! Which color timber are you going for? I tossed and turned between Earth and Cloud, but went with Earth becasue it will tone in with our carpet...still stressing though, and I hope it won't clash with anything Floorboards will be Silkwood Spotted Gum, and another thing just to add to the stress at the moment. I had ordered and paid for it before I read about other people's experiences with it... There will be lots of 'Oh why did I do that' moments with this house...just look at my taps disaster, which will cost me over $1K to fix...and that is only if the CM will approve it, which he has already said 'No' to. I'm stuck, but will talk to plumbing places and see what else is available in 3/4 turn ceramic discs...eventually. monkeyupatree mundie mansion I really like your handbag too Thats the first thing I thought too when I seen it on the bench! Your house looks lovely. Cant wait until another 'photo fest' It's amazing the amount of comments I get about my bag! Not sure when the next photofest will be. Nothing has changed inside (except for filling in the staicase wall for the storage). Painter due end of the week. Henley - Wilshire Mk 3 ... I love my house!! Re: The Story of Stormy's Castle.**PHOTO FEST!!!** 948Jun 29, 2009 10:22 pm You have to love a photo fest!!! Your house looks fantastic, I can't believe how much room and light you have, the ensuite is probably the size of our bedroom! You must be really proud of your choices as it all looks fantastic! and... Love your handbag too! I thought that straight away! Thanks jspitz, only about 8ish weeks left...give or take a couple of weeks! Hope to have the keys end of August, making it an approx 8 month build. Very exciting, and can't wait to just get in there and get on with our lives again! The most challenging part has been living in limbo for a year with the stresses of building... Jochicho You have to love a photo fest!!! Your house looks fantastic, I can't believe how much room and light you have, the ensuite is probably the size of our bedroom! You must be really proud of your choices as it all looks fantastic! and... Love your handbag too! I thought that straight away! Thanks Jochicho! Plenty of room, not so sure about the light, especially once the milk chocolate carpet goes in! Very proud of my choices...except taps, but trying desperately not to think about that! I've been away for some stress relief for the past 3 days, but it hasn't helped! I think I'll feel better once the kids are back at school. Everyone's just really tired and cranky and on edge. I'd hate to think what I'd be like if my build had been a nightmare...honestly, I think I would have cracked by now. I just can't wait to have some space around me again. It hasn't been terribly easy living in a 2 bedroom unit with 6 people for half of every week, 4 for the remainder. Anyway, painter due to begin tomorrow with any luck, so that's a step closer... Just gorgeous, everything!!! Sorry if you have mentioned it before, but what colour is your wall paint going to be? And also, do you have ideas for what to do with the curved wall of the staircase that you see from the top storey? Re: The Story of Stormy's Castle.**PHOTO FEST!!!** 951Jul 03, 2009 9:20 am Hi Donuts! Wall paint is Bristol's 'Nomadic Ivory' was a standard Henley colour and is a nice light taupy creamy colour with a warm feel rather than a cold feel (more pinky than yellow...but it's NOT pink!). It will match with the Alabaster laminex and our taupey chocolatey carpet. Fingers crossed it will look OK...I guess I'll find out in a week! I probably won't do anything with the curved wall in the staircase well. It will have a wall light above the landing half way down, and that's about it! Any suggestions?? Henley - Wilshire Mk 3 ... Home stretch, yes, but the most important part, and probably the most stressful! If the finishing touches and colours aren't perfect then I think I'll finally crack and fall to pieces!! Anyway, It's been a week since I have been to the house (been away), and Hubby hasn't either as it's dark when he gets home! We were very surprised to see the portico rendered...and in the wettest week Melbourne has seen for some time! Good to see it done, but not sure when it happened! I'll have to ask my CSA or SS! I also got a call from my SS yesterday wondering if I had 'collected' any spare bricks from the site prior to site clean...yes, I have about 40 sitting here! As it turns out, the alfresco is short a course (about 8 bricks), so the cornice cannot be finished out there yet. I happily dropped 8 bricks off for them today, and noticed (how could I not...) the render!!! What colour will the render be? (sorry, I 've forgotten!!! ) When the SS called to see if you had any bricks, did you not feel like saying "Well, I would have had plenty, if they'd left them for me!!!!!!!!!!!!!! " ??? I was just thinking this too! then you could have added "since I don't have any, you'll have to order another pallet, and this time you can keep good on your word and leave the leftover 2992 bricks here for me!"
