Re: New Carlisle display homes for the display home tragics! 9Jun 28, 2009 11:14 pm We were originally going to go with the Atlantique but opted for the Prominence in the end. The differences in inclusions between the two haven't really affected us. We had to upgrade the basin in our Powder room, whereas it would have been standard in the Atlantique. THat was the only thing we put in that was standard in the other house. The big difference, though, is that they are really strict on making structural changes or any changes for that matter. We have made a few minor adjustments but we can't, for instance, add an open shelf under the over head kitchen cabinets for no other reason than that it is a t range house and they don't like to do changes. hmmm. Saying that, we are changing the opening to the rumpus room to a different wall, are extending the garage, and are getting some wall and bathroom niches put in. We didn't want any other changes so we haven't really been affected by the stricter allowances. Re: New Carlisle display homes for the display home tragics! 10Jun 29, 2009 2:02 pm Thanks for your replies Zerosignal and jem!! Zerosignal, your building the Riverton if I can remember well?? If I had a corner block, I would definitely go for that Jensen facade!!! Its stunning.. jem, I think the companys being a bit more stringent about structural changes. We were able to make a few structural changes, like a shelf to the overheads (what you want to do), plaster hobs etc. I guess it might be for the good that they dont do any strucural changes, because they dont know how to do them properly... They only know how to do whats standard properly. And a few members on here are still fighting for more plaster niches with Carlisle. And now they dont change oven/rangehood/sink locations in kitchens. Hmmm, why theyve changed their ways a lot since I built!! So, I dont think they dont do structural changes because its the T Range, they dont do any structural changes in all houses. Good to hear the T Range isnt too different to the Affinity. Oh and the T Range house are apparently designed for a quicker build time.. thats a bonus for you guys!! Built the Atlantique 37 Mk2 with Carlisle Homes - WE'RE IN!! We have not really wanted to change much structurally anyway. Re: New Carlisle display homes for the display home tragics! 12Jun 30, 2009 10:05 pm So Zerosignal are you gona go with M or Carlisle? We're going through Point Cook, everything appears to be going well so far - definately a much better kitchen in the Riverton vs the Santorini, pot draws everywhere etc so it is great value as well. We're spending a bit on some bifolds (Emma is still concerned that they leaf size may not be wide enough, so we may go for the bigger unit - depending on cost) and are currently looking at evaporative cooling. One thing you maybe able to help me out with S&P - how many KW's is your heater? We want a 5 star heater and have been quoted by CH a 20kw unit for a 30sq house - want to make sure that is powerful enough for it. No point getting a 5 star heater if it going to be running 100% all the time using extra energy. Maybe other Carlisle owners can give me some advise on that one as well? Re: New Carlisle display homes for the display home tragics! 14Jul 01, 2009 1:23 pm Zerosignal, Ill have to look that up in the paperworks, but we didnt upgrade or change the ducted heating, so Im guessing it will be standard kws? Make sure you get your heating zoned too, we forgot to, so the WHOLE house is heated when we turn it on...... Ill get back to you on this one, but the usual kws is what we have - do you know whats standard in the heating? Built the Atlantique 37 Mk2 with Carlisle Homes - WE'RE IN!! We did ask for zoning, which will help us save on heating bills. The cost from going from a 20KW 5 Star to 30KW 5 Star is about $500 I think. Kid81 in my heating and cooling thread said that 20KW should be fine. viewtopic.php?f=20&t=19997&p=258296#p258296 Re: New Carlisle display homes for the display home tragics! 16Jul 03, 2009 12:18 am We are going for a 30kw medium efficiency (4 star) heater. Upgrade about $1k. With the new double storey Carlisle plan - I know a few people who were looking for designs with the master on the bottom floor. They have teenagers and wanted to give them space. This plan is perfect for it! Building Monaco32 with Carlisle Homes in Alamanda Estate 20/08/2010 - HANDOVER 24/8!!
