Re: Noggins??? 12Jun 23, 2009 11:40 am vid * Is it best to drill and screw or will nails suffice ? Vid Just do the same as what has already been done. I think nails are standard though vid * Should I wait for the sparkies to finish their wiring?Vid No - try and do it b4 the sparkies attend. If they need to run wires, they will then drill a hole in the noggin (much better they do it than yourself) vid * I would like to put several up for where we will hang photos in heavy frames, is it possible to go overboard or is it like powerpoints (you can NEVER have too many)? I wouldn't go overboard. Remember the lockup chippy has to straighten all the walls and noggins everywhere may not make this an easy task. vid * I know it is probably a very personal thing but is there a general "rule of thumb" for heights i.e. for photo frames 1.8mtr / towel rails/toilet roll holder 800mm etc etc? I think that I went 900mm for towel rails but can't really remember (I had a qualified chippy with a nailgun with me when I completed) vid * If I were to put a noggin in the bathroom where I think the towel rail should be will whoever fits it just put it where they think it's best or is this something that is discussed with your SS closer to the fitting time? Get yourself a red crayon and write on the concrete the height and the position of the noggins - they will then know where to place (also mark on your own plans) I'm not any expert but I hope this helps. Re: Noggins??? 13Jun 23, 2009 12:53 pm Remember to put noggins where you want to put robe hooks etc. We bought a stud finder last week and have used it at least a dozen times already. And don't count on the studs being in the spots where you want to hang things - noggins in before plaster is definitely the better way to go. Fi has moved in!! Re: Noggins??? 15Jun 23, 2009 11:12 pm I feel really, really dumb for asking this, but... what are noggins?
