Once it's on it's there to stay to the next millenium. You will never remove it. I made that mistake and was never able to get it off. This stuff is not compressible either so the door will be very very difficult if not impossible to close. You know what I was just thinking back to when I painted the door frames a few weeks ago and had all this foam crap on the inside of the frames. I tried to get it off and the sticky tape came off but left all the foam on there which I had to scrape off. Guess I know now why that was on there... to stop the door from banging in the wind! I guess I also know how crap it is to get off, so I'll definitely avoid that stuff! I'll give the raven seals a try, I might even get down to my local Bunnings tonight hopefully! Thanks for the tip Re: Front door help! 11Jun 11, 2009 7:10 pm Well I got the Raven weathershields from bunnings, the R48 for about $7. Meant for gaps 3 to 5mm. May have gone a little overboard as its now pretty hard to close the door, but I'll give it a few days and see if it gets easier, otherwise I may go back and get the smaller size (gaps 2 - 4mm) which I guess isn't that much smaller. No banging though, so its definitely good stuff, and easy to put on. Thanks for the advice guys, it was very much appreciated! Building Standards; Getting It Right!
