I am grateful to this forum where so many of you are sharing your experience. I am building a house in Sydney and have been learning a lot in the process. I have a few questions What happens when the frame work is up (2 story house), the floor board is on but the brick work and roof tiles not on for a couple of months and all the timber get soaked in rain for 2 months? How do you assess the quality of timber frame work? There are knots and holes in some places. The plumbers and electricians keep drilling holes through the 'smart beam'. How does it affect the strength of the beam? It appears that you have to keep watching every stage - in my case they forgot to install the roof ventilator which was shown on the drawings, forgot to install the roof cowl etc., etc., Of course they fixed it after I pointed out to them. But how can any one have time to inspect every day and point out the errors. Not every one will be knowledgeable enough to find out the errors. Where is the duty of care for these people? vk Re: Our WA Treechange - We have the keys!!! 59May 27, 2009 10:33 am ![]() Hi every one.
