Looks like we should be moving in the same time good luck My karma ran over your dogma Re: Our Treechange - we have had PCI! 45May 22, 2009 8:33 pm fantastic news. Congratulations. I look forward to seeing the new "your house' pictures next week. Re: Our WA Treechange - Handover on Monday!! 48May 25, 2009 11:12 pm Today we had handover It is so good to finally have the keys. Of course we went straight from the builders office to the house! It was dark so we got to check out all the lights. The cfl downlights are really bright( everyone keeps saying they aren't bright enough, I wouldn't want them to be any brighter! ) I did take lots of photos but there was a camera disaster so I only have a few to post for now. This week we will get the floorboards delivered and aircon goes in next week! I think we can see the end in sight! Sonya Re: Our WA Treechange - We have the keys!!! 53May 25, 2009 11:31 pm Congratulations, it looks fantastic! We too are going to be putting in CFL downlights (13 watt) but started to worry a bit with all the people saying they are no good, yours look awesome so I think we will stick with them. Can I ask what "watts" yours are? Re: Our WA Treechange - We have the keys!!! 54May 25, 2009 11:38 pm Thanks snhouse, Our downlights are 11 watts, so yours should be way bright enough, We have friends that have 9 watts and I can notice quite a difference between the brightness of theirs and ours. Sonya Re: Our WA Treechange - We have the keys!!! 55May 26, 2009 1:52 pm Congratulations. Looking forward to more pics. Have you moved in yet, or are you waiting for the floors etc to be done? Re: Our WA Treechange - We have the keys!!! 56May 26, 2009 2:34 pm Hey sonya, Do you mind telling me which bricks you chose? I am after a similar sort of look, probably with a monument roof. Building with Blueprint homes, Perth WA Prestart complete, settlement 14/08/09 Re: Our WA Treechange - We have the keys!!! 57May 26, 2009 11:31 pm Alisgirl, our bricks are federation limestone from midland brick. Roof is woodland grey, monument hadn't come out yet when we chose our colours but I like it too. monkeyupatree, we haven't moved in yet. We are waiting for the floors to be done, about 4 weeks! This weekend we are going to start sealing the walls, fun! How is you house going? Have you moved in yet? Sonya Re: Our WA Treechange - We have the keys!!! 58May 27, 2009 10:05 am Hi every one. I am grateful to this forum where so many of you are sharing your experience. I am building a house in Sydney and have been learning a lot in the process. I have a few questions What happens when the frame work is up (2 story house), the floor board is on but the brick work and roof tiles not on for a couple of months and all the timber get soaked in rain for 2 months? How do you assess the quality of timber frame work? There are knots and holes in some places. The plumbers and electricians keep drilling holes through the 'smart beam'. How does it affect the strength of the beam? It appears that you have to keep watching every stage - in my case they forgot to install the roof ventilator which was shown on the drawings, forgot to install the roof cowl etc., etc., Of course they fixed it after I pointed out to them. But how can any one have time to inspect every day and point out the errors. Not every one will be knowledgeable enough to find out the errors. Where is the duty of care for these people? vk Re: Our WA Treechange - We have the keys!!! 59May 27, 2009 10:33 am Viskarm Hi every one. We are waiting for the floors to be done, about 4 weeks! This weekend we are going to start sealing the walls, fun! How is you house going? Have you moved in yet? Sonya Yep all moved in, house sealed and painted...We paid cash to our painter to seal the walls for us, then we sanded and painted ourselves which took about 6ish days during the school holidays, so not so great with kids arguing and complaining! And it was a killer on my back and legs (Shhh...dont tell anyone that we haven't really finished it properly though, still got the laundry/toilet/linen and pantry to do, but we were so over painting after the first day!) We were lucky to get our floors layed the day after we had finished painting, floors took 4 days and we started moving stuff the day after that. Still got the old place to fix up though, so more painting to do! Only just got the internet connected here, so its been a long 3 or 4 weeks without it. Someone came only today to fix up the garage door, and tomorrow someone is coming to replace the shower screen, both were on the list to fix before handover! And our ceiling looks shocking...thats going on the list for the 4 month check! What colour are you painting your house? Dont forget your camera I would never build with Fowler homes.
