When there's water in the tank, they close the mains valve and open the tank valve, and their pump provides pressure. I believe that this is illegal though. There's a chance that germs from whatever dead animal is floating around in your tank, could cross contaminate the mains supply. Re: HELP!!! Is this something similar to what you are looking for? We asked for something like that for our main bath, but our builder said it's not available... I have also seen some bathroom brochures where in the shower, there's both a hand-held one and one outlet from the top, and again a switch for you to switch.
