A couple of things Coral have done to us in the Tender/Contract Process have had Money Hungry written all over them........this sounds like another. Both of the 2500L tanks they are supplying & installing for us (we only need 5000L storage) are 2100 high to the inlet. Re: coral homes - help with water tanks! 14May 08, 2009 10:11 pm We have 2 x 2500 slim line tanks which we got through Coral for about $7400. We felt that this price was really inflated, but we didn't need the hassle of doing it ourselves, and they have you over a barrel - you have to have one don't you. The price included the slab, pump and plumbing, so what they're quoting in comparison for twice the capacity isn't too bad. The slab was poured along with the main house slab. If you think you can project manage the installation, go for it. It will save you valuable money but might end up being a head ache. If you don't want the hassle, just pay them for it. Damn, that's a lot of money though! Re: coral homes - help with water tanks! 15May 08, 2009 10:33 pm thanks jellylegs - that's the problem, i really, really don't want the headache yep lc - this is a weird one - and when i went through my tender with the sc she highlighted that part and said that was why they didn't want me to supply my own tank 2014 - Prepping to build the Soho 4 with Plantation homes, industrial style 2009 - Built the Brampton with Coral Homes viewtopic.php?f=31&t=15399&start=280 Re: coral homes - help with water tanks! 16May 09, 2009 12:56 pm Have you considered putting a concrete tank under ground? Thats what I did, cost about $8000, coral installed, I provided the tank in the ground and the pump prior to start date. You save precious space on your land and don't have to worry about the inlet height, it will be underground. Re: coral homes - help with water tanks! 17May 09, 2009 4:26 pm hi raw - have thought about it but don't really want an underground tank for two reasons 1. at some stage, any tank is going to leak - whether it's in 2 years time or 10 years time - and if it's underground it's a little more difficult to tell 2. i have a two year old - he's a pain in the butt but i love him anyhoo, only a few months ago there was a news story about 2 kids who managed to open the manhole (for someone to clean it) on an underground water tank and they both drowned...probably me being stupidly cautious, but no thanks! i'm just curious as to why coral are being so difficult... 2014 - Prepping to build the Soho 4 with Plantation homes, industrial style 2009 - Built the Brampton with Coral Homes viewtopic.php?f=31&t=15399&start=280 That was always going to be a challenge and a test of patience. Full marks to your mate. Did you discuss the wet area near the trampoline? 16 17399 Ask the council if there is a chance of getting build over easement exemption. Sometimes easements are unused and 24cm is not all that much. Good luck. And yes any builder… 2 14051 |
