I have mounted 2 dryers this way with no probs ... That will work if the bracket spacing and the stud spacings are the same. It also assumes that you want your dryer exactly where the studs are, which may not be the case. We bolted a hotizontal piece of timber to the wall studs in our old house, painted it to match the wall, then mounted the dryer on that, which worked OK. You could just see the ends of the timber if you looked for them. I think we also had to add a spacer at the bottom so the dryer hung straight. ![]() Even if the bracket spacing had been right for the studs, we'd have been left with our dryer mounted off-centre from the washing machine which, apart from looking awful, would have restricted placement of cupboards. Re: Mounting clothes dryer on wall 4May 08, 2009 8:31 pm We followed the same procedure as Kek and we have had no problems. This was nearly 2 years ago. We have added the silver ducting to take the hot air outside and we have had no moisture problems at all. The space you save is great as we have a tiny laundry. In fact, it was one of our better decisions. Re: Mounting clothes dryer on wall 7May 09, 2009 10:12 am my laundry in my new home does not have much space as there is a linen cupboard.it a really bumper because I brought a new top loading washing machince for the new house its about 2 years old.And now have decided due to space will go for a frontloader.it seems a waste if I had know the laundry had lack of space would not have brought it, The problem was as the house is a acreage home it was not on display so we only had the plan too look at so it was hard to work out size of things. would you believe we even mapped it out at our old house in the middle of our 13 acres still could get sizes so hard finished building 40 square home on 5 acres with perry homes.working on the landscaping just finished pool deck with ://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=2217 Re: Mounting clothes dryer on wall 8May 10, 2009 4:35 am ![]() ![]() Just find the studs in the wall and screw the bracket through the gyprock into the timber ... Re: Mounting clothes dryer on wall 9May 11, 2009 11:25 pm When we moved in I used 4x 8mm dyna bolts into the brick wall. It was all I had.
