Salt looks too yellow or something I don't think you should *always* go for darker splashback colour (I didn't ). Especially as you already have dark cupboards. Are you getting starphire glass? Re: Splashback Help Needed 16May 05, 2009 11:05 pm Hi Donuts They are all on the benchtop which is Caesarstone Ivory. I am leaning towards the Stone because I think you are right, the cupboards are very dark and I think I may take away too much from them if I go too dark. It also might clash. Dark splashbacks probably work better with lighter cupboards. I am also a bit worried that Dusk might have a touch of purple in it and I don't think that would work. I also have to keep in mind that even though we have light tiles in the kitchen we are having merbau floorboards so that is going to add another dark colour to the mix. I think I was just feeling that the kitchen needed a little something more, but I think it's because the cupboards on the wall are looking a bit barren. The rangehood went in today so that has added something else to the wall and I think once the other appliances go in (and also the fridge in a few weeks) it will look more like a kitchen than just a bunch of cupboards and a benchtop. Saying that, if I can ever get hold of the rep he may have another colour that may also be "the one", but if not, I think I am going with Stone. I think it's now my safe fall back colour. Re: Splashback Help Needed 17May 05, 2009 11:24 pm hmmm yes I can see what you mean about maybe needing something bold, but your cupboards do make a very big statement on their own and like you say once it gets more kitchen stuff in it it will start to look more colourful and ... kitchen-like! Shame you seem to be limited to these splashback colours, whatever happened to being able to paint the splashback any colour of paint under the sun like most others seem to but you are right Stone IS a great colour and I think you can stop worrying "Your emotions are the slaves to your thoughts, and you are the slave to your emotions." — Elizabeth Gilbert Living in our new house. Currently scaping the land. Re: Splashback Help Needed 18May 06, 2009 8:27 am Spoke to the rep this morning and apparently I can have any colour under the Sun, well from the Dulux range. But I need to make that decision today. I just really give up. That information would have been great two days ago. Dulux has a colour called self destruct, I think that would be appropriate right now. Maybe that's the approach I should take, like the horses, pick it based on the name. Re: Splashback Help Needed 19May 06, 2009 8:29 am Self destruct is a nice colour - i think it is Jo's default render We chose Dulux White Duck for our splashback colour - pics in my thread. It is a really nice colour, it reminds me a bit of the stone you had a pic of. My karma ran over your dogma Re: Splashback Help Needed 20May 06, 2009 10:40 am They do end up darker in a big piece photogirl, if I had known this I may have chosen something a little lighter myself I like the stone very much, it's no that safe that it's boring and it's a nice welcoming colour, I don't think you need to go too dark with your cupboards Hi All, I engaged a tradie to install concrete retaining wall 600-800mm high over 32 meters in Victoria.
