Browse Forums Home Finance Re: The tax bonus 5Apr 22, 2009 10:16 am Still waiting here, too! I only submitted my tax return earlier this year so I expected mine to be one of the late ones. However my DW, who submitted her return early July last year, still hasn't got hers either; I expected we would have got her bonus by now . Could happen.. we aren't very good budgeters.. Love it Happy at Home Re: The tax bonus 11Apr 22, 2009 12:55 pm Nothing here either. But I was just reading in the paper that apparently lots of payments have been sent to tax agents (who actually filed the returns) and have landed in their accounts for them to send on. Only, they don't want to. So the tax office is going to have to get them all back, then post out new ones to those people. (can't find a link, but this was in the Herald Sun today) Re: The tax bonus 12Apr 22, 2009 1:02 pm We got ours a few days after it was announced, tell you what we needed it!! ICK So glad the building is over, never again. Loooove our house, but still not quite sure it was worth all of the stress they put us through! Re: The tax bonus 15Apr 22, 2009 2:48 pm for those awaiting the 'stimulus' here's a clip from the ATO: Q2: When will the tax bonus be paid? Payments will go out progressively over six weeks from early April to the 7.4 million eligible people who have already lodged last year’s tax return. Cheque and Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) postings will be distributed each business night until the initial run of 7.4 million has been completed. All cheque and EFT payments will be made using a post code selection process that is randomly generated, ensuring all post codes are evenly distributed to each state and territory each night (using the Australia Post predetermined percentage spread). For this reason and because of security concerns, we are not planning to publish a distribution schedule. Re: The tax bonus 18Apr 22, 2009 6:10 pm I got mine yesterday as well as the rest of the family (4 in total) popped it into my account ready to pay some laybys off for the house with it Re: The tax bonus 19Apr 22, 2009 6:14 pm mine was supposed to go straight into an account and our accountant would then be notified (he's already had one list sent of clients who have received the payment) but a cheque arrived in the mail today instead. now I just have to figure out what to spend it on, too many choices Re: The tax bonus 20Apr 22, 2009 6:30 pm nope we are waiting too John, Tarin and the Kids Built and moving in to the Regent Grande with Masterton homes http://thebrownsaremovingtothecountry.blogspot.com the exemption applies only to your principal place of residence - so you must live in it.
