Building a Wisdom Prosperity 23 - http://erwisdomprosperity.blogspot.com/ Re: Looking for a white paint... 18Apr 22, 2009 3:53 am Hey Missy - your white on white looks great but it is a cool white..... We thought we had all our choices locked in my head but last night went on dulux website with the rbg values and you can figure out which spectrum every white is in - ie white on white in blue hog bristle in green antique white pinky browns and on it goes. This may be getting too picky but when I spoke briefly to paint people (at paint shop on monday ) they said that depending on the house some whites will look very blue/pink in dark rooms it does not matter so much in rooms bathed in light because they will look white because of the effect of light. Our family room is north facing so not worried about this but the master is south and I don't want a cold looking bedroom. I only started getting worried re whites when my brother put his two cents in ....a few years ago he renovated and used bristol paints i think the first white he chose (and bought a lot of paint) looked grey and made the first room painted look dead as he described it he ended up with a colour that he can't remember (yes helpful...) that looked great but it was a creamy white and that is the sort of effect I want. But like others cannot be convinced of antique white so looking at natural white. Also am concerned re coverage if need three coats for a very preferred colour will pay extra but if can get a colour that ticks boxes in terms of colour will do that. Will see dulux trade tomorrow and post their wisdom/advice for others to be driven mad by Re: Looking for a white paint... 19Apr 22, 2009 6:09 pm Went to Dulux trade and they were lovely and knowledgable. Compared lots of colours in different lights - warm whites recommended - white swan (yellowish) fair bianca (peachy pinkish) antique white usa (pinky) natural white (grey ....was surprised) and whisper white (yellowish) - the winner was whisper white out of them best coverage because it has black tint in it - was led away from white on white said it would be bluer and had poorer coverage than whisper white. They all look very white in the sun and it is only in shade darker rooms that the yellow/blue pink comes out. So I have decided on whisper white for everything except ceiling ...................... stay tuned for when i change my mind about two or three coats he said does not matter - the clincher is good undercoat which is not often done....hope it helps someone else highly recommend the trade centre were very helpful. Re: Looking for a white paint... 20Apr 22, 2009 6:18 pm thanks for that info bluesteel - I'll be keeping it in mind for when we're choosing our white paint! Hi team, Im looking for a second hand sd4b monitor preferably white. 0 7312 Really tight at the top of the stairs- how to get furniture into those rooms? Study books - does anyone really use them these days? Large storage closet would be more functional. 2 4664 Hi, I am looking into doing a KDR in Melbourne and am contemplating using Kialla Homes. I am looking for feedback on them from others who have built with them. 0 8188 |
