Just am curious if anyone would know what it costs to have the keyed locks to windows. Cheers Re: Forgot to put locks on windows in contract.... 17Apr 17, 2009 8:16 pm Just to give an update to my original problem. The other day I called up Project Windows (which is a subsidiary of JG King). They will come out and install the locks for me when they install the flyscreens closer to handover... they are about $13 a lock plus labour.. so won't cost me that much... Re: 18Apr 17, 2009 8:18 pm sha Our insurance would also be affected without window locks (higher premium) We had an increased premium on our insurance when we were living in a city apartment due to not having lockable windows.. Mind you we were on the 18th floor.. no balconies on our side of the building for any remote chance of access... and the window only opened about 5 inches.. We tried to explain this to a few insurance companies but they still stung us for not having the locks... you can imagine a very amusing phone call.. Seems that the small cost of these locks will pay for itself with reduced premiums etc. -------------------------------------------------------- Building in Highlands Craigieburn Status: Building the Laundryless 25.5: Slab Complete Re: Forgot to put locks on windows in contract.... 19Apr 17, 2009 9:23 pm wow i thought all windows have locks on them our windows do and so do the other masterton around John, Tarin and the Kids Built and moving in to the Regent Grande with Masterton homes http://thebrownsaremovingtothecountry.blogspot.com Re: Forgot to put locks on windows in contract.... 20Apr 18, 2009 9:51 am Tillie mellybuilding Tillie I had forgotten to include window locks at the time of the contract and thought that I would fit them after but then when I visited the house today, there they are They are the keyed variety sshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh or they might take them back Are they standard or an extra?? But our PVC doesn't have keyed locks because sensibly they are illegal in the USA where the hardware was designed.
