Measure your cabinet to make sure the machine you want will fit and check that you have all the fittings you need to instal it. If you have power and a cold water tap, then you should have no dramas, even if the waste adaptor isn't installed - if you're not confident to DIY, it wouldn't cost much at all to have a plumber install one. The waste hose from the dishwasher gets clamped on to the flange. By the sounds of it you have everything you need to fit a dishwasher, but if you still have your doubts, get a plumber in for 1/2 hour to do it for you. An important thing to remember is that most dishwashers have a provision for the machine to be fastened to the neighbouring cabinetry - this is most important, as it can stop your dishwasher tipping forward when the door is open with a loaded rack extended. Cheers, Earl Re: DISHWASHER INFORMATION 8Apr 13, 2009 7:07 pm If your dishwasher is to be fitted next to your sink, you drill two 50mm holes through the floor of your cupboard in the back cornner of your cupboard, and through the kickboard against the back wall of the cupboard. You push the dishwasher almost into position. You then pass the hoses and electricity cord through the two holes up into the cupboard. Do this one at a time. If need be tie a piece of string to each of them and thread this through first pulling each one in turn through the holes. You then push the dishwasher back into position and then connect the two hoses to.... 1. The water point, which will be a tap (known as a washing machine tap) with a 20mm male thread on it. (it should have a non return valve incorporated into it) arco mini washing machine tap is a good one). Just simply screw the half union type connector on to it, making sure not to cross thread it) 2. The waste hose is connected onto the little plastic stud on your trap. Its located just below the top nut on your trap. Its abour 30mm long is tubular and has a small ring formed on the end. It needs to be drilled out. this is pretty simple but make sure it's drilled clean as dags might cause food scraps to build up and block the hose outlet. Use a utilux clip to fasten the hose over the drilled out stud, making sure you place it just before the raised lip on the stud. 3. Carefully plug in the electricity cord after turning on the water. Some dishwashers have a securing clip that holds it in place, others dont. Some screw up into the bench top....make sure the screws you use are shorter than the bench top. Read the operating instructions, make sure theres no leaks on the hoses and remove the foam type securing stuff inside the machine, turn on the machine and run away quickly. No, you most likely wont have to run. Most plumbers will charge you between $120 and $150 to do this. the running away will cost you extra. We are first time dishwasher buyers but we understand that if you use your dishwasher correctly you use LESS water than doing by hand!
