For what it’s worth, best getting as many quotes as possible. Send out emails / phone calls..

Drive around the suburb / neighbourhood and see which companies are servicing the area. Some companies seem to ‘specialise’ in an area or willing to work near their offices.

Some demo companies won’t touch certain properties (hard access / too busy a road / not in ‘their’ area)

* Best to ask their upcoming schedules - they all have work on, just how much..

* some will charge big $$ for waffle slabs (due to the foam in the concrete.

* get them to send their terms and conditions too, some have peculiar terms regarding access to site and fencing etc.


Demo permits, they generally liaise with council on that. But you’ll have to send them all the relevant documents so they can submit.

All services need to be abolished apart from water - still needed to spray down the dust.
Sewer - capped at connection
Elec - meter / OH removed from building
Gas - meter & connection to main removed
NBN- all cables removed between house and street.

Abolishment of services can take time, just remember they all need to be completed before they will start..

If your house was build during the asbestos years, could be worthwhile getting a seperate asbestos removal team in, or at least inform the demo companies that it may be present to ensure they give a likely price.

Above is a good start of ideas / suggestions but definitely not a complete list..
