We have the option for tiles or cat 1 laminate flooring with our builder. I really love timber floors, dislike tiles - so we thought we would take the laminate and use that while the kids are little and pull it up in 5-10yrs and replace with solid hardwood flooring. Guessing we'll save money as well as ripping up tiles can be expensive, and we didn't want to encroach on room/skirting height (no matter how small the difference) with flooring-over-tiles. The ranges available are though carpet court: Province Laminate Range: 8mm with a 15yr warranty (I think it's only a basic MDF core, not HDF) - Pank Oak Clix Laminate Range: 7mm with a 10yr warranty (again, I think it's only a basic MDF core, not HDF) - 2 strip blackbutt Has anyone used these brands?
