Asbestos Clean-up/Out ?

I have a friend (really) who is buying a house with asbestos in it.

He plans to have the ceiling "done" to remove it - and says it will cost around $10k - is this right - ie I felt it might be more.

Also - surely if its in the ceiling it will also be in the walls etc etc ?

Anyone know anything about such things ?

Hi Saint Mike. the cost all determines the size of the area removed and if its Class A or B. In a lot of cases Ceiling materials can differ from wall material so this is not an unusual thing to find. the Div 5 report for the property should identify where there is Asbestos Containing Material is and if its Class A or B.
