Thanks for the updates. My dunlop representative walked around with a moisture detector until he was able to find "wet spots", and blamed the entire floor gap problem on those insignificant "sources of dampness" and said our warranty was void until the dampness was rectified. I guess he expects me to lift up my house from the concrete slab and re-pour???

I have been dealing with Alastair Read - who have other people been dealing with?

Spent 25k on new Karndean Longboard vinyl planks 18 months ago.Initially, the installer was going to put
the vinyl flooring straight over laminate wood flooring in the family room and over slate tiles in the kitchen and dinning room.
I questioned this and they said that the leveling compound that goes on the floor will even out everything(?)
However, I had the slate flooring removed(2days with a breaker hammer), Removed all the carpet from elsewhere (bare concrete
underneath) except bedrooms and left the laminate timber floor.The flooring company had the %#@%$# Gaul to try and charge $800
for extra leveling compound for me removing the slate floors.Now, for the second time in 6 months ,the flooring over the old laminate
is buckling and lifting, particularly along the edges .no where else is there an issue(where the new floor was put
over the concrete sub floor). In hind sight, would have gone for good quality carpet instead of this crap)

Don't blame the brand, question the install. You NEVER lay over slate floors! In anyway possible, let the flooring company do the take up of the slate, as they know how and where the levels needs to be for viny installs.
I've been selling Karndean for 20 years and recommending Karndean for all my clients for 30 years, no issues here.

I came across this thread and wanted to share my experience with Dunlop Flooring’s Castleton French Oak Vinyl. We had the flooring installed in 2017, but not long after, we started noticing severe gapping between the boards. At the time, the installer used soft glue, which was recommended by Dunlop Flooring.

However, in 2019, Dunlop changed their installation guidelines, now requiring hard glue to prevent movement and gapping, which wasn’t something we were aware of when the product was installed.

Dunlop Flooring sent someone to inspect our home, and they asked if we had used a steam mop. We admitted to using it a handful of times, and they claimed that this compromised the glue and voided our warranty. However, the gapping is also present in rooms where we didn’t use the steam mop at all.

With the help from Consumer Protection, Dunlop offered a remedy of $1,300 as compensation. We declined their offer and are planning to take the matter to the Magistrates Court.

I am currently gathering evidence to strengthen my case.

Don't take no for an answer. My floor was re-laid/stuck (to concrete) using the new hard adhesive and hasn't been a problem since. My partner's floor (on hardboard underlay) was totally replaced with new planks and hard glue, which is their preferred remedy now. Both were done free of charge. The layer concerned said that this was the 20th replacement job that he'd done. Dunlop had to switch to another supplier of the planks from China because the vinyl of the original supplier was faulty and prone to excessive shrinkage. It's nothing to do with steam mops, glue or the laying. It's the plank. The new glue does fix the problem, but I was originally sold on the idea that any damaged planks could be easily replaced. Now it would be a major exercise. Wollongong area, south of Sydney.
