Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Glenvill Homes experience anyone? 16Aug 13, 2023 11:22 am firsthyme @roadrunnerr & Cleveland64 Did it take you long to complete the design? It took a couple months to get the initial floorplan and then we had a bunch of changes and it's been 2 months since so yet to see the new ones. Yet to even go through official cost estimation to sign the contract and start interiors. Keen to know what timelines you both have been working with? (and did you guys go custom or one of their collection plans?) My concern is how to time the actual knockdown and tenants notice, as well as general overall slow timing. I'm not sure if this is a normal time frame across all builders or if it's slow due to some reasons that we should we worries about. We finalised the design in a months time after the first visit, but the draft took nearly 2.5 months after that. The design consultant did pick up a few mistakes in the plan which need to be rectified and I have also picked up a few. I have another appointment with them next weekend so hopefully it will be finalised by then We have our interior design consult on Tuesday, hopefully it goes well and the time to get update quote after the design consult was told to me would be a week Re: Glenvill Homes experience anyone? 17Aug 13, 2023 12:07 pm Cleveland64 We had similar experience, it was slow with changes to floorplan and getting things changed and adjusted with their drafting (building a Collection range not custom). The whole administration side of things was very very slow... I'm not sure if this is across the board in building. Having spoken to people building with Thomas Archer they seemed to have same issue. As mentioned, we are happy with quality of build now in construction. Thank you, my major concern was always the build quality. I can understand the timelines are but stretched out. But I was informed that my build will be comfortably completed in 12 months Re: Glenvill Homes experience anyone? 18Aug 13, 2023 12:28 pm roadrunnerr Cleveland64 We had similar experience, it was slow with changes to floorplan and getting things changed and adjusted with their drafting (building a Collection range not custom).
