These sliding doors are fairly common in Japan but are not always featured in Australian homes.
The first one is sliding glass door and instead of sliding behind another glass frame, it slides behind external wall.

The second one is a cavity sliding door, with glass door panels sliding into the wall.

Both appear to be weatherproof as implied by the area of installation.
From the very few new homes that I have come across, the builder/designer seem to be tight-lipped / reluctant to share the supplier details.
I'm under the impression that cedarwood can supply the cavity sliding type, but not sure whether there are other suppliers both locally and from overseas?
